Smile Christmas Trees

What type of Christmas tree do you have? Fake? Real? Long or short needles? When do you put it up? Do you have a "theme" tree? Colored lights or white? Whatcha got?

I have a fake tree. I have been known to put my tree up well before Thanksgiving and leave it up until Feb.(I am a little wacky) I have almost all hand made ornaments that are very special to me. I LOVE christmas trees.

Normally we get a real tree, but for the past couple years, I have had to use a fake tree since my husband is normally not home to help me get a real one up. We use colored lights. For ornaments, my husband and I both have ornaments from when we were growing up. I buy each of the boys and my husband a new ornament every year based on what they were doing that year or what their interests were that year. Our first year together, we had this huge real tree with hardly anything on it, but now it's starting to fill in!

Albert and I started a new tradition as a family when I moved here. We travel way up into the mesa to get a fresh tree. We take coffee, food, and good music. Sometimes it can be an all day thing!

We do not have a themed tree at all. I like multi-colored lights and a variety of ornaments. We usually put it up 2 weeks before Christmas, but my parents are visiting from FLORIDA in 2 weeks and we are having a southwest Christmas

Our tree that will go up this wknd is an 8 yr old short needled 7ft tall un-pre lit fake tree. HD puts it together & puts the multi colored lights on it & I get to decorate it. I have orniments from as far back as 1918 including strings of glass beading that are roped from branch to branch. <(I re-strung those last yr. OH what a job!) I also have some hand blowen glass balls & glass icicles. & I wouldn't eat the candy canes I put on the tree...they are ooooh 6-7 yrs old. LOL!

we used to always have a real tree but this year we are going with a fiber optic. we always put the tree up on dec 10th, my moms bday. most of ornaments are homemade. when we were kids mom sat down and made one with us every year and now we do it with all the nieces and nephews(and next year with my new baby!)
