Default I love Dale Jr. but.........

I am a Jr. fan and will always be, but.........I can't stand the new colors/sponsors. I just got the Nascar catalog and the green and red 88 makes me think of Christmas. Some of the National Guard stuff isn't too bad (navy blue), but the car is just as bad as the Amp/Mountain Dew car.

I know there is nothing to be done but is anyone with me on this?

I can understand what you mean, however I don't think he had any input on the color of his car because it is what the sponsers want I think? I will always think of Dales car as being RED!! no matter what color he drives from now on....I am glad he is 88 tho!! gotta keep that 8 in there!!

I agree with you. We also love Dale Jr. We ordered his new diecast car already. I don't think I'll be buying any of the green shirts ot hats! Too much like xmas & st. patrick's day!

I'm glad I'm not alone. I know he probably had no choice, Hendrick's already had his commitments to honor.

I haven't and won't order any of the green either, but I did get a decent t-shirt with the National Guard logo, it's navy blue.

I too am happy that he kept an 8 in his number. I wish he could've gotten the 08.

I agree. It's nice to meet other Nascar fans. My HD and I love Nascar. We have been fans for many years, basically growing up Nascar! We go down to Daytona for Speedweeks every year. We have a blast. The Daytona 500 is awesome. I am getting ready to go to NYC, to the Hard Rock Cafe today to meet some of the drivers that are in for this weekend's awards ceremony. (I won the contest on AAA). Hope it will be fun. The cars are on display all over Manhattan.

Smile I like green...

I found a fine green 88 t-shirt at my local NASCAR store...it did not look like a X-mas shirt. I also will miss the red 8...and will probably always think of the 88 as the big, brown truck (and Dale Jarrett). But, nobody from NASCAR will let me make any decisions. I also have to admit that I have always been partial to the color green. See y'all in Daytona.

I'm from Northern New Jersey, we don't have a local Nascar store, though I wish we did. It's not super popular up here, but it is growing. For now I have to rely on mail order catalogs...I see the Nascar web site doesn't even have an 88 decal for my truck window so the 8 has to stay for now.

That's what I loved about visiting my mom in Florida...you could get nice Nascar stuff in any store and Daytona was only an hour ride.

I'll see you in the winner's circle!

Okay, my all-time favorite Nascar commercial....do y'all remember when Jeremy Mayfield used to drive for Mobil? The commercial showed this girl pouring motor oil into a bubble bath and using lots of other "car" stuff to get ready for her date. When Jeremy pulled up in his race car she jumped in thru the window and say, "haaaaay Jermeeee" and he said, "is that octane whatever" and she said, "yeah, you like it" and he said, "Oh yeah!"

It was the funniest thing ever. We MISS that!

We also got to visit Daytona last September during our trip to FL. SO fun!
