Question McDonalds Sweet Tea

I live in PA and everyone I work with is just raving about McDonald Sweet Tea and I was wondering if anyone here has tried it?

I hate to sound like a snob but I brew my own tea at home and can't imagine their version tastes much different! I checked and the friends who like it the most have only ever made instant tea (yuck!)

Any thoughts, comments? If anyone has tried it does it taste better than home brewed tea?

Ugh! I hate instant tea! I've tasted McDonald's Sweet Tea and I don't think it really tastes any different from what I make.

In all honesty, I don't drink all that much sweet tea, but my husband loves it - I would rather have unsweet tea. I buy the Lipton Family Size Tea Bags and put one of them in my coffee maker and fill the water reservoire with 8-10 cups of water and then brew it. I put about 3/4 - 1 cup of sugar in a one gallon pitcher and dump the tea in when it is done brewing, stir it, fill the pitcher the rest of the way with cold water, and stir it again.

Most of the time when we eat out, I just order water to drink. You never know how the tea will taste. It's usually either too weak or too strong, and if you get sweet tea, it's usually way, way too sweet and tastes like pure sugar.

That's how I make mine. I thought maybe McDonalds was putting something "special" in theres that everyone was raving about it! I hate going out to buy tea too. I got tea at Burger King a year ago and I asked the girl if it was instant or brewed she said it was brewed. Well, I took one drink and about gagged! She was about 16 years old so maybe it was "brewed" instant tea because it sure as heck wasn't "real" tea!!!!

Default McDonald's sweet tea

I live in western PA and we have it. It's delicious, no lemon. I go to McDonald's drive-thru with my $1.06 and get one a couple times a week. Sure isn't low-cal though! It has been so hot recently and it's a great refresher!

Have any of you tried Red Diamond tea? I love it, and they have a sugar-free version made with Splenda (I don't like to drink anything with empty calories). I usually buy the individual bottles at Walmart or Target on those days when I am out and I get thirsty (.49¢ at Target, .67¢ at Walmart). They sell it in gallon containers too though.

OK gals, I live in Texas and everyone in the south drinks sweet tea. The southeastern states as well. I am from Ohio originally and all of my friends used to think it was sooooo cool that we drank iced tea all the time. Needless to say, iced tea was not a northern thing while I was growing up. We knew about it because my moms family is from Texas. Now if you go to NC, or GA, be prepared to have your socks knocked off by their sweet tea. I am pretty sure that the sugar content in one large glass is enough to make about 100 dozen doughnuts! I used to drink soooooooooo much sweet tea that I made at home. If I was out, I sweet tea out too. I had to give it up. When I did, I lost 20lbs! NO exercise, just no sweet tea...............God I hate getting old and having to lose weight the hard way! LOL When are they going to make a pill that you lose weight no matter how much you consume and how little you exercise??? That would be better than a million dollars! LOLOLOLOLOL

P.S. If you are going to make iced tea at home, sweet or unsweet, do yourself a favor and loose the Lipton, Salada and all the others. Luzianne is the ONLY tea for iced tea. I promise it is a big difference! I hope that you will try it and let me know what you think. We go through about 2 gallons of tea daily at my house and running out of tea bags is almost like running out of oxygen!
