Arrow *Help*with Retirement Homes

I just received an email from a good friend named Wes, Wes lives in Mississippi right outside Vickburg. I met Wes via Yahoo! when I was doing auctions, he bought a few things from me and then through emails discovered we both liked to cook so I sent him a cookbook he wanted, from there we became friends, for the last 5 or 6 years we have been emailing each other usually weekly or so. Wes is 75 and is thinking about moving to a retirement home, but he needs some advice, hopefully someone here will be able to give some tips that I can relay to him, he asked me to ask you, here is part of his email...Thanks in advance for any tips! I will forward any responses to Wes.

Gee Carol, I have been looking back into previous email. I re-read your comments about your Forum group for which I understand that you serve as the Moderator. I got confused because so many words in the English language has different definitions depending of the context in which the word is used, field of expertise, and the part of the world that an individual word is used. Thus, I really do not know your intent by the use of the word "Forum".

If your Forum means a discussion group, then I have a suggestion as a topic for discussion in the form of a question. The question is: "what do single old folks who have been living alone do when it is time to move into a retirement facility, but are caught in the middle with too much income for Government assistance, and not enough income to hack the price of a retirement facility on their own".

I have absolutely no experience in this, but wouldn't the obvious thing be to "shack up"/advertise for a room mate? That's about the best I can think of.

They should have something like match.com for situations like this!
