Default Suzuki 2009-2011 GSX-R 1000 motorcycles: side stand interlock switch bolts loosen

Transport Canada recall:

Transport Canada Recall # 2012166
Recall Date 2012/05/18

Notification Type Safety Mfr

System Electrical

Manufacturer Recall Number 92

Units Affected 407

Category Motorcycle

Recall Details On certain motorcycles, the side stand interlock switch bolts could loosen and fall out. This could allow the switch to rotate, cutting off the ignition circuit, causing the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road condition, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the side stand interlock switch bolts. Make /Model /Model Year(s) Affected

SUZUKI /GSX-R1000 /2009 2010 2011
