Transport Canada Recall # 2012166 Recall Date 2012/05/18 Notification Type Safety Mfr System Electrical Manufacturer Recall Number 92 Units Affected 407 Category Motorcycle Recall Details On certain motorcycles, the side stand interlock switch bolts could loosen and fall out. This could allow the switch to rotate, cutting off the ignition circuit, causing the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road condition, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the side stand interlock switch bolts. Make /Model /Model Year(s) Affected SUZUKI /GSX-R1000 /2009 2010 2011

Mfr's Report Date: MAY 18, 2012 NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V231000 N/A NHTSA Action Number: N/A Component: EQUIPMENT Potential Number of Units Affected: 4,969 Summary: SUZUKI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 GSX-R1000 MOTORCYCLES. DUE TO LOOSE BOLTS THE SIDE STAND INTERLOCK SWITCH MAY FAIL.Consequence: ON THE GSX-R1000 MODELS, FAILURE OF THE SWITCH WILL TERMINATE THE IGNITION CIRCUIT.
