Full Product Description

This recall involves the Vulcan Electric built-in battery charger identified by model number CV24/10EABM.

This model of battery charger is used in the following Karcher floor scrubber units:

Hazard Identified

Exposure to water or cleaning fluids can cause the internal components to short causing excessive heat that can melt the plastic enclosure of the Karcher floor scrubber and cause the plastic to ignite into flames, burn and emit copious amounts of toxic fumes.

Vulcan Electric has received one report of a Karcher floor scrubber being damaged by fire. No injuries have been reported.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these battery chargers.
Corrective Action

Consumers should immediately stop using the charger and contact Karcher Canada to return the charger for a free replacement.

Approximately 132 units of the affected chargers were sold across Canada.
Time Period Sold

The affected products were sold from January 2008 to December 2010.
