Default e-books

I got a NOOK (from Barnes & Noble) for Christmas and I am now learning to use e-books. I downloaded some from the county library (free) and bought two from Barnes & Noble. The two from B&N were only $.99 each and I just bought them to try out the Nook. Both books were WONDERFUL!! Here She Lies by Katia Lief & Her Last Letter by Nancy c. Johnson. I highly recommend these.

I also read "Letters to God" by Patrick Doughtie & John Perry (print copy). Better get you some tissue for this one. I couldn't seem to put it down until I had finished it.

Any recommendations for e-books?

Default not free, but . . .

My historical fiction is formatted for the Nook. Just look up author Debra Kemp. I have a sample of my first book in a thread here in this forum. I have also found inexpensive books for Nook at Lulu and Smashwords. I love that they accept PayPal for payment. And if you want free versions of classics like Tolstoy, go to Project Gutenberg. All their downloads are free. And most ebooks from indie publishers are cheaper than mass market paperback books.

Default Virgin River Series

I am just completing a series of 19 books by Robyn Carr - Virgin River Series

They have all been very good and I feel almost like I know the main characters!
I love reading a series although this one was rather long. Some of them were available on e-books from the local library (free) and I had to check some of them out in printed form from the library. I am on #18 now and looking forward to #19 soon!

You know you are reading too much when you have your library card number memorized!!! LOL

I'm not familiar with "e-books" . Does one sit at the computer to read one?

You can. Some people use nooks, kindles (mt fav), tablets and some cell phones

Does anyone using a Nook tablet listen to anything on it? Do you have a headset (ear buds)? If so how do you like it and what kind of headset do you have? Any info will be helpful!

I just use my regular headphones to listen to stuff on my Nook tablet. I don't use the MP3 function on a regular basis though for two reasons. When I read, I find music a distraction. Second, the MP3 function drains more of my battery. So I only tend to use that when I can keep my Nook plugged in and not just rely on battery. Headphones are still better for sound than ear buds.
