was a member for a year. I would record my scans each day, which is time consuming, and when I'd try to submit the scanner would freeze loosing all my data. I returned the scanner, and when I tried to redeem my points I was given a completely different catalog to choose from. I scanned, took tons of surveys, and all I ended up with for a years worth of work was a piece of junk item I could have gotten at walmart for $20. There are never any managers on duty and the two people that answer the phones are very rude. A guy yelled at me for interupting his dinner and had to call me back. Not Worth the Effort!!!

My Dad has been doing this for many, many years. He scans everything he purchases and inputs if it was on sale or if he used a coupon. He transmitts over the phone every week. He accumulates points that can then be turned in for some really great gifts. Over the years he has received several Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Makers, an emergency radio, a coffee maker, a sleeping bag, a digital movie camera, and several other things. He has given me several of the gifts. They offer great support when you call. He has gone through several machines and battery packs over the years. I would say he has been doing this for over 20 years. It is a reputable program. I used to do a similar program in the 1970s, but it was done with a paper catalog that was mailed back monthly. I earned stainless tableware and kitchen products for both my daughters for their hope chests.

I did this too for years and it was a major pain. Took forever to get enough points to get a decent prize and even then, the quality of the prizes aren't worth the effort. Never won a prize after 4 years. I got rid of my land line and of course, they don't support using cell phones. They wanted me to go to a pay phone! So I decided to quit doing it and they were pretty nasty to me because I waited a week to send the scanner back.
I would definitely say it's not worth the time to do it. |

I have been a member for many years and have never won a prize. And, yes, it does take a very long time to get enough points to get a high dollar gift. However, I have received everything from an iPod to a vacuum cleaners to an umbrella. Everything I requested and received has been of the highest quality and all of the above mention items are still being used. The umbrellas is the oldest with the vacuum cleaner being next in line. The iPod is about 2 or 3 years old and is an item I would have never spent money on. However, I used it to listen to books while I am working out and don't know what I would do without it.
I agree that it is a "pain" to scan. However, I now transmit using my computer and it is 100% easier then doing it over the phone lines. Not sure that the scanning and doing the surveys are worth the gifts, but I have gotten use to doing it, so I keep on doing it. Maybe someday I'll be able to get an iPad, but they don't list it in the current gift catalog. |
