I think I've suffered from Low Blood Sugar my whole life. My husband's insurance doesn't kick in for another month so in the meantime I'm trying to get some control over this by researching online. I've been trying to find an online support group but haven't had much luck. Does anyone here suffer from Hypoglycemia or know of a good site?
Lately I feel like I could eat everything in the house and I think it's due to fluctuating sugar and would appreciate anyone's help.
Thanks!:)

I have low blood sugar and have found if I eat oatmeal in the morning and a snack of fruit, I don't have the problems I used to before lunch. The secret to keeping your blood sugar from fluctuating drastically and dangerously is to eat about every 2 hours. Eat a bit, not a meal, and always have protein which keeps the sugar up and gently lowers it. Sugar zooms it up and then drops quickly without any warning. I keep cheese cubes in my purse and dried fruit when I'm out and about.

Thanks for the tips! I think I just need to rethink my whole way of eating. One of my big problems is I am so addicted to carbs (bread, spaghetti, etc.) but I do LOVE Cheese so that's a good thing to eat. Like you said the sugar makes it zoom up then I crash and have to eat more sugar to bring it up again. Tired of that roller coaster, so really appreciate your help!:)

Carbs are what keeps your blood sugar from having the highs and lows. Complex carbs are the best for keeping those lows away. Like posted above - oatmeal is a good start for a day and it can help lower cholesterol. Good Luck - those lows are really scary. I am insulin dependent diabetic and I hate when it goes low and you get the "sugar shakes".

I have to have bloodwork done tomorrow because my last bloodwork showed slightly elevated sugar levels. I LOVE MY CARBS!!!
