Yes I did it or at least was going to. I got my materials in the mail and then my mom got sick and had to go into the hospital off and on for about a month. I called and told them plus emailed them and told them what was going on. I still have the email telling me that was ok if I wanted to keep and not begin until things around here got situated. About a week later, I got a letter from them demanding the system back, that I was fired from the program and if I did not return system in 5 days the price of the scanner would go to collections and be put on my credit report. You better bet I sent that darn thing back and the heck with them.

I've been scanning for about two years now. You just scan what you buy and transmit once a week.

Isn't there some kind of incentive or reward program attached to this?

They send you a scanner to attach to your puter and you have to scan everything you purchase that has a bar code. They use the info in some huge corporation way to make the world a better place. lol

Hello,
Just wondering if anybody has dealt with this company. I signed up and got approved. They sent the scanner thing and I done it for a few months, but it is really time consuming. If you haven't heard of it, you scan all the groceries and household supplies that you buy on a weekly basis, then transmit via computer. It wouldn't be so bad to scan but you have to enter the prices and coupons used, so it is really time consuming. I am just wondering if it is worth it. You get entered into drawings everytime you submit information and you get points for surveys and each submittal. Let me know if anybody else has done this and does it pay in the long run.:)

I received a phone call about two weeks ago saying that I had been accepted and that I would receive my scanner in about three weeks. I have been looking forward to it. I hope I don't get disappointed!!

I have been doing the Nielson scanner for about a month. My sister has been doing it for over 5 years. She has gotten many cool gifts and even won $500 in one of their drawings. I think it's kinda fun. Once in a while they send you little thank you gifts. :) I hope you enjoy it!

I've been doing this for two weeks now. It is kind of fun, plus I noticed an overcharge from Walmart on a child's birthday gift that I'd never have noticed if I hadn't had to enter prices. So I'll be getting some bucks back from them anyway!;)

Ok, quick question about this. So when you are done with your whole scanning part....however long that may be.... do you have to pay to send the scanner back?? I'm not doing this, just curious. :)

No, if you look at the box it came in there will be blue paper with your address in it inside the plastic sleeve. If you take that out and flip it over it has the return info. It has one of the USPO postage-paid boxes on the upper right hand corner. So if you still have that you are good to go.

Oops, you said you are NOT doing that. So too much information from me in my first reply. The short answer is, "No!" :)

a quick update I did the nielsen scanner thingy for about 4 months. I hate to say it but it was more trouble than it was worth. very time consuming. My machine was used and didn't always work even though I made my call in right after I transmitted it would say successful.then 3 weeks down the road I get a warning post card saying if i don't transmit they will end my contract and take back there machine.
So I play around with it wiggle the wires and it finally sends right for about 2 or 3 weeks. in the end I decided it just wasn't worth it for what u get.So I contact them send it back and in about 10 days what do you think arrived in my mail? you guessed it they sent it back to me so once again we get it ready to ship back.I honestly didn't get it in the mail until the next week by then we had received another post card demanding there machine backing and canceling out what points i had earned.
I guess this isn't a quick update but I wanted everyone to know my experience with the scanner.

was a member for a year. I would record my scans each day, which is time consuming, and when I'd try to submit the scanner would freeze loosing all my data. I returned the scanner, and when I tried to redeem my points I was given a completely different catalog to choose from. I scanned, took tons of surveys, and all I ended up with for a years worth of work was a piece of junk item I could have gotten at walmart for $20. There are never any managers on duty and the two people that answer the phones are very rude. A guy yelled at me for interupting his dinner and had to call me back. Not Worth the Effort!!!
