So, stupid question :o I only use a Tracfone for emergencies, and it does have texting capabilities, but I've never used it.... After sending this text, how would they get your address to mail the items?

I don't know if your phone has texting capabilities or not. You could call the company, or try Googling it.

I read an article in NY times where these are legitimate but I think you have to set up an account at www.shoptext.com. Correct me if I am wrong. My stupid cell phone carrier does not let us text to just a few numbers!! Poo

I think they ask for a credit card because this site is also used by people to purchase items by text and it be charged to that card. It is something they are trying to do to make it easier to shop I reckon!
