My dogs really didn't even like it! And they like pretty much anything......including rocks, paper, bugs, etc.............LOL

I heard from someone else that those were pretty bad. Won't waste my time or money trying them. That IS pretty bad that your dogs didn't even like it. LOL

Terrible is probably the nicest thing to say about them. YUCK. And my dog wouldn't eat them either and she eats everything.

LOL!
I saw the commercial of Soyjoy today and they make it seem it is good and healthy. If you say it was disgusting, then the commercial of Soyjoy is false advertisement.
Thanks for letting us know how it really tastes like. :)

I tried the Berry flavor bar and took it for what it was- a healthy snack option. I did think it was dry (so you need milk or something with it), but thought that the flavor was pretty good. Guess I am in the minority on this one-lol.

I got one from Walgreen's as well (love that rebate catalog). I didn't care for it either. To me, it tasted like stale fruitcake.

Mine haven't arrived yet either- they sent me the survey, but so far I don't have anything to comment on. I hope they do eventually show up - because now I'm really curious as to just how gross they are! :o

I agree.....they were horrible. I had to look at the wrapper again to make sure they were actually food.

Lol! I finally received these... the first one I tried was the "raisin and almond" one. It was absolutely vile. Have you ever smelled a slice of bread that is about a week old, and you can tell it's going to grow mold any minute? I swear, to me, it tasted the way that smells. Even then, I decided to give them another chance with my morning coffee, grabbing the "mango coconut" one. Well, that one was MUCH better then the first, but tasted like extremely old fruit cake that had been compacted down. I couldn't detect any coconut or coconut flavor at all. It just tasted like an old piece of raisin toast that had been sat on under a couch cushion for 3 months. I guess if I was absolutely starving, I could be forced to eat the "mango coconut" one. I'm not even going to try the berry one. Ordinarily that would have been the first one I grabbed, but after reading the ingredients and realising I've never even seen two of the berries used (hawthorn and wolfberry), I decided to pass. (Not to mention that one of the ingredients is also "red bean paste"- no thanks!) On the positive side, this was a very generous sample on the companies part, I thought. 3 full-size 1.06oz bars. Can't beat that.

I ordered the samples before I realized how badly they tasted. Oh well! I'll try them again when they come in, I guess.
Speaking of bean paste, I have a recipe for fudge that calls for mashed up beans. It sounds gross, but it's actually the best fudge recipe I've ever made. My son absolutely loves it! Here it is, if anyone's interested:
Surprise Chocolate Fudge
1 15 ounce can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup butter
1 cup cocoa
1 tablespoon vanilla
7 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans.
Place beans in a large, microwave safe bowl and mash completely. Add butter, and microwave on low until butter is melted. Stir well. Add cocoa, vanilla, and powdered sugar. With a mixer on medium, beat until combined, and fudge is a creamy consistency. It's lumpy and dry at first, but will eventually come together. Add nuts. Spread into a 9 inch square pan, and refrigerate until firm.
Just don't tell my son it has beans in it! :D

I received my samples the other day, and just tried the raisin and almond one. I completely agree with your assessment! :( I hate to throw the remaining bars away, but there's no way I'm eating another one.

Well, it did say to give the other 2 away to friends, maybe you should give them to your enemies instead-lol. Seriously, maybe you can give them to a food drive. I actually didn't think the berry one was that bad, but I guess I am the only one that feels that way. If anyone else feels that way, please post it so that I don't feel so lonely ;) .

I read where someone said Soyjoy bars tasted like stale fruitcake! How Kind! I think SoyJoy is what EVIL must taste like. Didn't anybody taste these things before they put them out there? What does the factory smell like? I 'm thinking it must smell at least as bad as a petfood factory.

LMAO! I must take credit for that "stale fruitcake" comment. Thank you for saying I'm kind! :D
I also wondered if the manufacturers actually tasted it. Maybe the boss likes 'em, and everyone else is afraid to say how grody they are. LOL!

I just had to make a comment about this...
I was SO disappointed in the Soy Joy bars and all I could say is "No wonder they gave three of them away free... They would have gone bad otherwise!" LOL
IMO it tasted like cardboard with a smashed in piece of dried fruit... Got milk is an understatement! A shame because they looked delicious!

I feel like the lonely rooting section for this product (maybe because they were so generous with their free sample of 3 bars). To people that have never tried these, there are a few others besides me that don't feel so harshly towards this product. There are 3 people in other posts that liked them. Don't let these posts scare you and prevent you from trying it (especially if you received the free sample). Just remember it is more of a healthy snack. If you like nutrition bars, you may like these.

I looovvvee them!!! I am a former vegan who prefers fresh squash to cupcakes though. LOL If you are used to granola bars & such, you won't like these. They are very very natural tasting and quite dry. The mango is my favorite! :D

I subscribe to the Hungry Girl newsletter, and this is what she had to say about them:
SOYJOY Bars
(1 bar: 130 - 140 calories, 4.5 - 6g fat, 40 - 50mg sodium, 16 - 17g carbs, 3g fiber, 10 - 12g sugars, 4g protein = 2 - 3 Points)
SOYJOY Bars have to be, hands down, the most promoted snack bars in bar history. Someone is shelling out HUGE bucks to advertise these things. We've seen ads on busses, commercials on TV -- even full pages in every popular national magazine under the sun. Someone should have taken some of that advertising money and put it back into development and research, because these bars taste absolutely HORRIBLE. We taste bars for a living -- literally -- and have tried at least a dozen new ones in the past year. These are hands down, the worst-tasting ones we've encountered BY FAR (there's not even a close second!). These are so bad we could barely get a bite of each flavor down, and wouldn't even consider finishing an entire bar (we may be hungry, but we're not crazy)! The weird thing is, the stats aren't even that good -- each one contains 130-140 calories and 6g of fat. And they're TINY (not much larger than a Kit Kat stick)! We're not sure what these things have going for 'em. If anyone out there knows, please fill us in. We're stumped!
Overall Score: 2. We predict a short life for these icky, dry bars. If (for some odd reason) you're a fan of SOYJOY, stock up now before it's too late.

I also thought they were bad. I got my free sample in the mail and was excited. It was around noon and I just opened it and took a large bite. I could not help but spit it out. My mail box is about 200 yards away from my house. I spit it out and could not get home fast enough to rinse my mouth out. My husband was laughing at me. I wonder what the neighbors thought. NO wonder they are free!!!!!:D

I guess I'm in the major minority....I thought it was o.k. I keep snack samples in the van for quasi-emergencies. I handed one to one of the kids. I thought they were spitting-up, slowed down, signaled to pull over, got out the travel barf bag and shoved it under his chin. He asked what I was doing; I told him. When I asked what was happening, he replied, "GrandmaMom, don't ever buy this again." I told him it was good for him. He said, "I'd rather eat a Brussels sprout than this." Now that's pretty bad, but I did like them. So, now I don't have to share.:p
