This does not guarantee that you will receive this offer from them, you have to fill out a questionaire and then wait weeks to find out if you qualify.

This is interesting. I wonder what they're looking for? I'm also wondering if everyone's name will simply go into a pot at the end and they'll simply have a drawing.

Regardless, thanks for passing it on. If anyone wins (or is selected), be sure to let us know.

I used the free pods they sent but never bought more. I ended up going with the reusable "Eco Pads" from Amazon.com You use your own coffee, grind it very fine and pack the grounds into the holder and brew like you would their pods. Nothing but grounds to throw away and you can use your favorite coffee beans! ;) What a bummer you didnt care for it Maui, maybe you can yardsale it? :D

Has anyone else heard back on this yet? They sent me a selection confirmation just now, and I have paid my shipping and handling. YAY!!! Free coffee pot! I have a $4 coffee pot from Wal-Mart now, and it operates like a $4 coffee pot. It will be nice to have an upgrade.

For those who were selected before, I was wondering which model they sent you. It looks like they have 3 different models. I am sure it is the basic model, but that is still a $70 coffee pot plus extra goodies.

This is a pretty sweet deal! I love me some coffee! :D

I also received an email from Senseo saying I was lucky enough to receive a free pot! However, my shipping was $15 and they wouldn't ship to TN (where I live) --- kinda a bummer, but oh well! :(

Just thought I would let you know that they are sending out some emails

I wonder why they wouldn't ship to TN? That is a bummer! So why did they let you sign up in the first place?

I also received an email saying that I'm eligible for the Senseo promotion. I didn't realize I would have to pay $15 for the shipping though. :( I guess it's still a good deal. I just hope it works better than the Black & Decker Home Cafe system I bought a couple of years ago. That thing was terrible and I ended up having to return it. I'd hate to be out $15 for shipping on something that's just as bad. I think I'll go ahead and give it a try though.

That IS strange that they won't ship to TN. I wonder what's up with that?

kimfdu
05-30-2007, 11:26 AM
I'm not sure why they wouldn't ship it to TN -- it wasn't even a state choice! It bummed me out and of course I sent them an email, but I wonder if they will even respond! My husband is a big coffee drinker (well just one cup at a time, but a few times a day) -- so I thought this would be perfect! Maybe they will e-mail me back!

I wasn't too excited about the $15 shipping but I figured a new pot & all the coffee I guess $15 isn't so bad considering I'd have to pay about the same amount going through Gevalia & at least here I don't have to be a member of their coffee club. I wouldn't doubt it too on the prices if they are shipping through UPS...they are expensive to ship through. :(

genalewis
05-31-2007, 11:04 PM
No shipping to TN?! Well, that's state discrimination! :p Someone else brought up a good point...why let you go through the trouble of completing that long survery if they couldn't even ship the thing to you?

Yes, I really was none too happy about the shipping costs, but the pot and the pods are expensive, so I'm getting a heck of a discount if nothing else. For having to come out of my pocket for this, it better be fantastic!

Well I don't think anyone has received one yet, and I find it ?? that it could be a good coffee pot (for free), but I really don't know, and the shipping charge seems excessive to me, you can ship that cheaper through UPS.

Kgauger, is it a good machine? Or worth approximately $15? I'm just wondering since so many people seem to have been accepted (and you can buy a coffee machine in Walmart for $15, just not an really good one).

I didn't think to check my bulk mail before deleting it (I never do), so I have no idea if they ever offered me one. I wouldn't have opted to pay the $15 anyway... but just curious as to the quality of the machine. I saw something similar in a store the other day, but I don't remember how much they wanted for them.

I have a Senseo, that I bought for normal price ($75-80) that I love!

As far as I know it is worth more than $15 and it is a good deal, this offer.

The pods are expensive but we use reusable ones we stuff ourselves.

(For your amusement, I did sign up for the $15 one :P Hope to get another great coffee pot!)

It is much better than any $15 machine they sell in the stores.. It is really cool.. It makes a cup of coffee in like 60 seconds. It works great for hot chocolate too, makes the water hot real quick.. I am so glad that I got it.. Worth over the $15 imo... And that was just for the shipping. It was a 9lb box so go to DHL and figure out the shipping, I don't think they are charging too much. They are shipping from Tn...

This showed up at my door yesterday right before I left to head out of town. I took it with me to my destination, and brewed several cups of coffee while I was there. It is a GREAT! It is fast and easy, and the coffee is delicious. I will definitely rave about this to everyone I know, so it was a good investment on Senseo's part.

Thank you to the OP, because I would not have known about this offer were it not for you! :)

I received my free coffee maker yesterday and immediately tried it out. The coffee pods included with my maker are not to my liking but I did a little research and found out that Target sells their brand pods so I'm definitely giving them a try.
If you do receive the free pot you do have to pay $15 S/H but since the pot retails for $60 or higher and the free pods they send retail for as much as $12 or more, I feel it's well worth it:)

I got my Senseo coffemaker today. Only a week after requesting it. So far I love it. I used to have a Black & Decker Home Cafe coffeemaker and it was junk. Returned it twice, contacted the company, never got any satisfaction. Since I have only heard good things about the Senseo model I decided that for $15.00 this was well worth trying..

I recieved one of these and they are nice however an 8oz mug of coffee requires 2 pods unless you like weaker coffee so that 18 pod bag at the grocery store for $5.59 gets to be pretty expensive for home brewed coffee. Having said that, this thing makes AWSOME coffee! It is almost like drinking an espresso as it is very strong with the 2pods and has a frothy head on it. Senseo also makes Cappucino pods as well as Earl Grey and Green Tea pods which require an additional part in order to use them. Senseo can set you up with a coffee subscription but it seemed it did not save you any money. There is a gizmo on the market that is not made by or I'm sure approved for use in Senseo brewers that allows you to use your own bulk coffee ie Folgers or even Starbucks I found it on Amazon for like $5.00 with additional filters for like $1.25 I am thinking of trying one out but as I said I think this is a use at your own risk thing. Its probably safe but Senseo would tell you anything to keep you from using it as the pods are obviously where they make there money and is why it is worth while for them to give away machines.

I got my invitation yesterday and was a little disappointed about the S&H. Then I figured the pods would be very expensive to buy if I did get the machine. But I want to thank the people that posted about the reuseable pods available at Amazon! I can get the pods free at Amazon with my GC's I have stored up there! So I ordered my Senseo machine yesterday and am going to order the reuseable pods today!! Thanks all!

Well now I am more worried..it said it could not be shipped to PO Boxes, and that is what I have. I put my physical address on the offer, but I have a Change of Address on file from my physical address to my PO Box (just finished college, moving out from parents house deal) so..I wonder if it'll be forwarded to my box or returned to sender or what? I filled mine out five weeks ago now..I hope it comes..:(

You might want to write and ask them because most people are getting them within days. Some companys will not ship to a PO Box and if it is forwarded that is where it is going to go more and likely.

I just received mine today! It is really nice! I haven't made a cup of coffee with it yet but I am excited about trying it! :D

I know a lot of people say that it is really expensive but if you think about the cost of Starbuck's and Coffee House cups of coffee then it is actually cheaper in the long run.

One cup of Coffee House style coffee $2 per 10oz. cup = $14 per week
Senseo Coffee 9 (8-10oz) cups $5. Not bad if is compared to that.

If it is compared to basic Folgers or Maxwell House however then it will seem expensive.

I have a question one of you that got the pot may be able to answer. In the water tank there is a little thing that is on the right side that kinda slides up and down if i move the tank - is it supposed to be stuck on the right or did it get shifted? I cant get to it and i think it is supposed to be somewhere else - make sense?? sorry i cant explain it better!!

I just received mine yesterday and know exactly what you are referring to. It looks like a float or a full/empty gauge but it just seems to stick to the bottom of the water reservoir. That little thing has me curious too. Anyone out there that can please shed some light on it for us curious ones?

My goodness, Barbara Stanwyck can scream like a banshee in "Sorry, Wrong Number" - I happen to be watching that now and am thinking that my goodness, she would wake my entire city if she screamed like that around here!

I'm not a coffe drinker but... are you sure its not a floater? Meaning it raises as you fill with water? Maybe its a gauge for the pot it fills and rises and as the water comes out it goes back down when it gets back down the machine knows to stop heating or something.Just a thought.

Evidently something did happen; i recently got an e-mail asking me how I was enjoying my Senseo o_O. Sent an e-mail to them, and they responded very quickly asking more info, then forwarding it to their manager..who forwarded it to their promotions department. Now waiting to hear from them! I lived there from 1986-1988. After we first got married, we lived in a tiny apartment called Big John's Estates, which considering how tiny they were is hilarious! For entertainment, we would go walk along the beach on base. When I lived there, there was no Walmart at all, but a small chain called Rose's. My brother-in-law was also in the Marine Corps, so I did visit Jacksonville again in 1995, and was amazed by the changes. The base had a mall, which I thought was impressive! I bet it has really changed by now.

Thanks for the memories!

I used the free pods they sent but never bought more. I ended up going with the reusable "Eco Pads" from Amazon.com You use your own coffee, grind it very fine and pack the grounds into the holder and brew like you would their pods. Nothing but grounds to throw away and you can use your favorite coffee beans! ;) :D

Wow, thanks ... I didn't know I could buy my own "filters" for this as I didn't like the taste of the coffee so much ... but I LOVE the machine!! I thought s/h was a GREAT deal for the machine ... and it's still selling for about $70 in my local Wal-mart.

Nope, no credit card. :[ I'm only 18 and have no real established credit yet, nor a job (as of yet), so...

Her friend has a credit card, but she doesn't understand much about computers, let alone the idea of an encrypted page so her credit information won't get stolen. I'm not even going to bother asking her if I could use her card... I don't want to deal with the drama. x_x

It's annoying, because, for quite a while, I was using her card through PayPal with no problem. Ordered mine this evening. I can't wait to get it. My boyfriend has a Keurig machine and it has totally turned me into a coffe drinker. The nice thing about about these machines is the versatility-- instant hot water for hot cocoa, and you can also make tea, and you can tweak the strength of the coffee by adjusting the cup size.

In a previous post someone asked about using debit cards to order--- debit cards work the same as a credit card. I use mine for online orders all the time.

You can always go to Rite Aid or a Check Cashing place (Ace is our local one) and get a prepaid credit card.
That is what I have to use for offers I sign up for. I do not have a debit card and dislike using my credit card for anything but emergencies.
So I got a prepaid credit card once a month I add 50.00 to it.
The ones at Rite Aid you can go to the store and pay I think it is 9.00 to add funds to it. So for 50 I pay 60.00 but worth it to not hand out my account info online.

I haven't had a problem with mine but I prefer average/mild coffee... You are correct that the amount of water is predetermined by the machine.

I use one pod and press the two cup button (for 8 oz. of water) and it taste delicious IMO. Medium roast may not be your preference. Perhaps it is the flavor of the coffee. Maybe you can try the dark roast and use one pod with the two cup button.

Hope that helps! :)

Check out your local WalMart or Target. Also, try amazon.com. I've bought 2 at my local WalMart, & are now on the clearance aisle, from $9 to $7, & the coffee systems from $70 to $45.

I have system #2 coming from the offer. How you are "selected" depends on how you answer the survey questions. I think this is what helped me to get #2 offer: drink lots of coffee & can't stop talking to other people (WOM) about a product you love, PLUS gave the system as a gift.

System #1 went for a wedding present a few wks. ago.
System #2 will be a Christmas gift.

Got mine a few days ago. Tried Columbian coffee -- really strong! Will try it again soon. It does take up a lot of room on the kitchen counter. It was worth $15.00 to try it. Jury is still out on whether I will keep it or let a friend try it.

You do NOT have to purchase the pods!!! Check your local Wal Mart, Target, etc., & Amazon.com. These places sell the pod holder that you REFILL with YOUR own coffee!!
I purchased #2 last wk. @ my local WalMart, was $7 marked down from $9. #1 went with #1 Senseo as a wedding gift last mth. #2 Senseo & my pod: is a Christmas present for my step-son & his wife.

I am looking @ the box & the Exact title of the gizmo is: Presto my pod, refillable coffee holder. Box states: for use with Philips Senseo (models HD7810/65 & HD7810/75). The Stock No. on the box is: 09402.

You already have coffee in the house, why buy the Expensive pods???

Just trying to save all of us money!!:p

they want to know you are going to tell everyone about your wonderful new coffee maker.

I thought that was the case too. I answered every question the way that they would have wanted to hear it. I thought duh-it's pretty obvious what to say if you want the darned thing.
Well, I was wrong. I have not been offered the machine. Besides answering all the questions "right", I also have a business run out of my home. I serve clients hot tea and bottled water and would like to offer them coffee.
I thought also that maybe my request got lost or didn't go through, so I did it again. It said that they had already received my request??????
It has been almost 2 months....

I don't run a business out of my home and stated that, and I said i drink coffee, iced tea, and bottled water.

I said I belong to a supper club and we meet twice a month, I said I *always* brag about good products (which I do) and I clicked "agree" for letting people know about bad products.

Maybe they look at the questions and then choose randomly out of the ones they like.

I was surprised to hear back in less than 24 hours.

good luck!

Wow, mine arrived yesterday and it is nice! It was the black color, which is fine. I have a teenager that LOVES iced Hazlenut or FV coffee (like McDonalds has) but at $2.00 a cup... we don't get it often. This will be a great way to make that! It will also be nice with in-laws (hers is decaf, his choice is reg). It is a wonderful and economical way to try. I tried 3 times to no avail and my husband tried only 1 time and was chosen. The odd thing? Same answers every time! Those of you that are bummed about not being chosen... just keep trying! Our "winning" survey was actually done from a free email account, not our home or work accounts, so if need be... make new free emal accounts to try from! ;)

Well, if you read my earlier post you know that I called Sensco about the tea samples and was told that a coupon should have been with the coffee maker.
Since it was not with the coffee maker she assured me that she would send one. Well, to my surprise today I got an envelope from Sara Lee with ONE tea bag for the Sensco coffee maker. Whopee! The letter also stated that there were Sara Lee coupons enclosed but there were none. I tried calling the customer care number and was routed around to several people then got disconnected. When I called back I started getting the "let me transfer you" bit again so I hung up. I have been using regular tea bags (individual cup) in the coffee maker. I use one tea bag and set it for two cups. The tea is delicious!

My husband also signed up for the coffee maker and received one. Guess what my best friend is getting for her birthday this month? Nice gift for $15.00 huh?

Not true. The coffee made with the Senseo is very strong. It's way too strong for me. I use one pod and use the two cup option. You'll probably get it faster than that. Mine came in about a week.

mspete, I've heard that you can use regular teabags. I drink a lot of hot tea in the winter, so I'll definitely be trying it soon.

OK People, For Those That do NOT know: You do NOT have to purchase the expensive pods. You can use your OWN coffee, as long as you purchase a gizmo that fits in the machine that allows you to use your Own coffee. WalMart sells one that fits this Senseo & is called My Pod by Presto. My local WM selling them on clearance, $7 reduced from $9. Amazon.com also sells Presto's My Pod as well as a couple of others that will fit the Senseo. From the Users Ratings in amazon.com, it takes some experimenting.
ALSO:
1. The bar codes on the bottom of the unit's box are blacked out by permanenet marker. I do not know if these machines were reconditioned, etc. Just wanted to let you know about this.
2. Don't let the $15 S/H bug you, as this unit retails for $70. Small price to pay for an expensive unit. My local WM, Marquette, MI, currently selling them for 1/2 on clerance, $45. Also, this comes with the machine, are packed in an envelope that is in the shipping box, you do NOT have to open the Sealed Senseo box--there are 5 - pamphlets each w $20 coupons off a Senseo system & $1 off any frozen Sarah Lee coupon. I posted the pamphlets/$20 coupons (which I stapled to the inside of the pamphlets) on a work bulletin board last wk, stating that Target had the unit on sale for $59 & was also on the WM clearace aisle for $45. ALL the pamphlets/coupons Gone in 4 hrs.
This item would make a great Christmas present, wedding present, etc. Think: BIG SPENDER on SMALL BUDGET.

I don't know about the warranty - guess I should read it. I have been making tea with regular tea bags almost every day. I use one tea bag and set for two cups. Delicious! So I signed up for this and just now got the email saying Congrats.

Is this one of those things where you get the coffee pot but then you get more stuff that you have to buy later? Like once my parents got a free coffee pot and then they had to cancel everything after they got the pot because they sent more and more stuff to you they wanted you to purchase. Wondering if it's the same kind of deal.

I think that is precisely why they do it as there are a few stores that sell these that will accept them back without a receipt.

Interestingly enough, there are quite a few of these promotions listed on Ebay. So, people are still making profit on them anyway.

Anyway, I signed up for this offer with several emails over the past 4 or 5 days, and all of them came back elgible last night at exactly the same time - 11:44pm. So, it looks like they send them out in batches - possibly every couple of days or so.

There also seems to be a moderate level of deviation allowed in the survey. I changed quite a few of my answers around on the questions, and still received the approval email.

For anyone who hasn't received their email, just keep trying at different times with different emails. Eventually, you'll get lumped into an approved batch as there looks to be more of them than not.

Thanks for posting this!

I tried over a period of time to get this offer, trying three different e-mail addresses. Finally, they sent me an invitation to the last e-mail address I used. This has been awhile ago. Well, just in the past couple of weeks, I've gotten invitations at my other e-mail addresses. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

I'm sure their true moneymaker is the pods, which is why they don't mind sending out the coffee pots! Hubby and I saw a story the other day on the news about IBM. Their true moneymaker is ink cartridges; not printers, or even computers.

It is true that so many products make the real money from what users purchase after the initial product (i.e. coffee maker). Just think cd players, dvd players, stereos, etc. I did get the coffee maker and use it almost every day to make hot tea.

For those of you who like the senseo but don't want to spend a fortune on coffee pods, take a look at this.

http://www.amazon.com/Presto-09402-Refillable-Personal-Coffee/dp/B000BIU088/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-3293912-7215941?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1191446148&sr=8-1

This, and the little filters it uses are both also available in store at WalMart. Walmart price for the My Pod is 9.96, and the replacement packs of filters are 1.78 for 100. A one time cost, and you can use any coffee in the senseo.

It does work a little bit different with this, you need to press the off button when your cup is full, the auto shut off doesn't work the same, and it doesn't do the foamy thing. But it does make a fast, GREAT cup of regular coffee.

Just wanted to let y'all know about this. I got one at WalMart, and love it. Honestly, with the My Pod the Senseo made the best cup of Folger's coffee I've ever had.
