I agree with biellen, I got mine, but it is to big for a small amount of counter space that I have, so it is still in the box, I am thinking I might just use it for a christmas gift or maybe a wedding gift, I don't know anyone getting married right now.

I looked for the Presto-09402 thingy to be filled with coffee of users choice at local Super Wal-Mart today. Did not find them. Are they usually with the coffee makers or in the grocery dept wit coffee/filters? I just ordered it from Amazon. Where are the little filter packages of 100 for $1.78? Wal-Mart or Amazon. Thanks for the help.
The 1.78 ones were at WalMart. The My PoD at my local walmart is in the coffee maker aisle, near the Senseo machine, but up high. The refill filters are right next to it.
Hope you find them!

Can someone help me out. When I press the button to make the coffee, it makes a VERY LOUD whirling like sound the entire time the coffee is coming out.
Its almost like an egg beater/mixer on med sound.
Are they suppose to be this noisy?
Thanks,
Andie

Mine makes the noise too. Don't know if this is normal but it seems to be working fine. I am really enjoying making tea with mine. Still haven't found the filters to fill with coffee of my choice but I will keep looking. Haven't checked at Target yet. There is not a Target nearby. Checked at two Wal-Mart SuperCenters and did not find them.

I didn't find the MYPods or filter at Target, but did find them at Walmart. They were on the shelf right above the coffee maker.
I think I will call Senseo tomorrow as this just seems SO LOUD...too loud for early morning coffee. Almost like it is grinding the beans to make the coffee. LOL

I think they work with steam. I may be wrong but I believe they do. And with steam, the loud noise is normal. My espresso machine does the same thing because of the steam and pressure thingy. I haven't used my senseo pots, because they are being saved for gifts since I LOVE my espresso, but I would think the loud noise is normal.

Mine is a little noisy- but compared to 10-15 mins with a regular drip coffee maker-and the noise it makes- it doesn't even come close for the 60-90 secs of noise- and the coffee is phenomenal!!!
When I worked for Macy's, the noise was the biggest complaint we got about the Senseo. I remember having a long conversation with the company rep. about it, and I can assure you, it is normal. We even stopped demoing them in store, because the noise scared off customers :p Seriously, if you can deal with it, it does make good coffee. I ended up with a Tassimo myself.

In an earlier post I communicated the experience I had when I called about the tea pods for the Senseo and how it was a totally unsatisfactory experience. Well somewhere along the line I guess a record was made of my name and address because today I received a letter thanking me for contacting Sara Lee and enclosed were THREE coupons for FREE Sara Lee product! Wow, this is really nice. I look forward to buying a good coffee cake or a pie, making myself a cup of tea or coffee and enjoying the reward.

I got the coffee maker several days ago and have been enjoying making tea.
I ordered the filter thingy from Amazon to allow you to use your own coffee.
I made the coffee today and it was wonderful. I didn't like the coffee that came with the coffee maker (dark roast) but I really liked the coffee when I used my regular brand. Hope others are enjoying their coffee makers.

We got it. It came in the mail in less than a week from when I filled out my shipping info. We got the black middle of the line one. I think they are looking for people to share the machine with their friends, so you probably have to fill it out like you drink lots of coffee and share with friends. We got about 6 coupons for $20 off any of their machines. If any of you want a coupon, let me know.

Has anyone noticed water under these when you move them, like a small leak?
It not from an overflow of the tank or cups.
Maybe I need to call the company?
I wonder if these are refurbished since they are shipped from the RETURNS dept?

Mine often has a small amount of water under it. This seem to happen more when I make tea. Could be because I am using regular tea bags rather than "pods". I also ordered the thing that allows you to use your own coffee and I really like it. Good way to try some of the samples of Folgers Gourmet coffee that I have received lately.

I am in love with my Senseo!!!
The Senseo coffee is really bad, but I did order a pod maker and now my Kona coffee is perfection.
Best tip I received was to wet the pods before brewing as this makes such a full rich flavor.
I hope some one comes out with double pods soon, as I think it would be easier than using two at a time for a large cup. OHHHH!!! and Espresso pods would be excellent too!!!!

Yes, you have to pay $15 for shipping and handling. Since the pot retails for way more than that, it is a bargain. :)

This was never posted as a sample, at the time it was posted no one knew that there was going to be a charge for shipping, it took about 1 month before anyone found out, the rest is history, as you can see this is a very popular coffee machine, hope you enjoy yours when you receive it.Thanks for the post. I don't see why people are complaining about the shipping. The machine alone is worth $100 (I got the black one), the box of coffee pods you get with it probably cost $15 at the store, and they want almost $10 for the metal coffee pod holder they send with it. That means you get at least $125 value for the $15 shipping charge. They send you about 5 coupons worth $20 off a machine to give to friends and $1 off a Sara Lee product too. I think that is close enough to a free sample, and no one should be complaining about paying a $15 shipping fee. If you drink coffee and want another machine, it's quite close to a free sample and extremely cheap!

I had the second one delivered to my mother-in-law's address because I was not sure if they would send it to my house since my first one was delivered here.

That's why this thread is in the "Other Free Stuff" section of Start Sampling Forums.
I also think $15 is a small price to pay for this coffee pot. I used two e-mail addresses, got two e-mails, and had both pots sent to my home address. I figured if they didn't want me to have another one, they'd tell me when I gave them my address again. I am going to send the second one to my inlaws for Christmas.

I got mine today! It didn't come with the manual, so I had to google the .pdf version. (keywords - descaling senseo) It's kinda cool, but seems to take up more space than I'd like to share with a single cup coffee maker, if you know what I mean. And, the way I drink coffee, I could use up the whole tin of pods in one day, EASY!!! Let me know if anyone wants one of the $20 off coupons. PM me and I'll mail it ot you. I have a couple left.

P.S. I also got 2 - $1 off the Sara Lee! WOOT!

I made my weekly treck to Wally World yesterday. I checked on the Presto gadget that allow you to use your own coffee with the Senseo coffee maker.
Unfortunately they did not have it (my Wal-Mart does not carry Senseo coffee maker any longer). I checked on the coffee pods in the grocery department and found bags of medium roast coffee for $2.00 per bag. The regular price at Wal-Mart is $4.00+. You might want to check on these at your Wal-Mart soon.

I got mine this week. I was also scoping out the pod situation at WalMart. They had the Senseo pods as well as Folgers pods and I think I saw one other too. I do agree that the machine takes up a LOT of space on your counter, but it does look good. Kind of funky!

I spent Saturday with my perfect pod maker machine and 200 filters. Ground out 4 types of coffee. Espresso, Choc Macnut, Kona, and Kona reserve peaberry. Made 200 pods and put them in ziplock bags and tossed them in the freezer. Was so nice this morning to wake up, pick what kind of coffee I wanted. A cup of Peaberry and a cup of choc mac nut.
I'm in love with my Senseo. The espresso works great if you use the 4ounce mode. A little cocoa and some milk and you have a really yummy Mocha.
I highly recommend getting a Perfect Pod maker, as it's a perfect compliment for the Senseo.

I called Senseo today (1-866-473-6736) to ask about the water leaking from the Senseo coffee maker. A very nice lady discussed the problem with me and asked me to check some things on the coffee maker. She could not determine the reason for the lead and is shipping me a new coffee maker. When it arrives there will be pre-paid labels for returning the one I have.
I have been enjoying the coffee maker but don't like having to wipe up the water each time I use it.
Hope this helps anyone having the same problem.

Thanks for the number. When I called that was actually Sara Lee, but she connected me to a Phillips rep. She listened to that LOUD sound, and said it was not to sound like a jackhammer. And perhaps the reason for my leak.
However, she is sending prepaid labels and will ship a new coffee maker out once they get this one back.
So no coffee maker for about a week, :(

Dawn, I bought one!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250186113104&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=015
As soon as I get it/use it I'll let you know what I think.
I got my Melitta Padfilters today, and they are GREAT! I just used one to make a cup of coffee, and it is perfect! They were a bit pricey, but they sure will save me money in the long run. These will last me until they wear out. I am a happy camper. :)

I got my Senseo. I think their pods are highly overpriced, and not really all that good. DH thinks the senseo is the greatest thing since sliced white bread! We bought a Perfect Pod Maker, through Coffee Giant. You plug it in, put in a paper pod, fill it with your own coffee, the perfect pod maker heat seals it. WOW! Really a darn fine cuppa coffee! Definitely better than the senseo pods, or any other similar pods. The pods are double (2 cup) pods, but you can put as much coffee in as you want -as long as you can still seal it, that is... So, now DH has a hobby: sits down with a bin of freshly ground coffee, the pod maker, and empty pods. Makes up a bunch of pods, tucks them into a jar.

What I like about the Melitta Padfilter is you don't have to make pods using the paper filters. You simply put the coffee in the filter, close it, and it's ready to go! Once you make the initial investment, there's nothing else to buy except coffee.
Do you have trouble finding the filters? I wasn't able to find the Perfect Pod Maker in my area, so I was worried about being able to find the filters. If I have to mail order them and pay shipping costs, I figured I may as well just buy the pods.

Yay! I just got an email saying I've been chosen. I don't think 15.00 is too high for shipping considering I got "goosed" by Gevalia a few years back for 20 bucks lol. Anyhoo, can't wait to get this little puppy so I can start using it.

I received my Senseo Saturday I'm guessing, but didn't find it out on the front porch until late last night. I took it out of the box, flushed it out, and made 2 cups of what I thought were the strongest cups of coffee EVER! Hubby loved it though. Now I'm gonna look into getting a podmaker. I am impressed with it so far.

I have not received the new coffee maker as promised in my call to Sara Lee/Phillips on 11/20/07. I called again today and now they tell me that labels will be sent to return the defective coffee maker and the replacement will be shipped once they receive the defective one. She said labels were have been sent and I should have them by 12/12. Maybe this plan will work.
I don't like wiping up water from the coffee each time and if I do forget to wipe it up there are stains on the counter. I'm about ready to go back to my Mr. Coffee.:( :(

I was one of the "chosen" ones for this promotion, but was highly disappointed when I found out that they charge you $15 for "shipping,"...seemed a little steep for shipping charges to me.
It is so worth it! The machine is nice, and quite expensive itself. It also comes with a container to hold the pods, a bag of coffee pods, several $20.00 off coupons for friends, and a $1.00 Sara Lee coupon for yourself! :)

Actually I did get a defective one. It leaks water onto the counter. I called the company on 11/20 and was promised a replacement. She said it would be shipped in the next couple of days then I could return the defective one in the box. It never came and I called again about a week ago and was told that I would get instructions and UPS label to return the defective one then the new one would be shipped. I received the instructions and labels today (12/25/07). Hope this works as I really enjoy making just one cup of tea. I usually drink more than one cup of coffee but just one cup of tea. I can make one cup of coffee using my own brand of ground coffee when I use the "presto pod". The shipping of $15.00 is a good deal. Also I am usually the eternal optimist!

Yeah, but you gotta buy those little paper filters and fill them yourself. With the padfilter, there's nothing else to buy, and all you do is simply put your coffee in the filter and place it in your Senseo. When your coffee's done, you take it out, tap the coffee grounds into the trash, and rinse it out for next time.

I also got the melitta padfilter on ebay. You do not have to bid for it. It is a buy now price with a few dollars for shipping. My husband loves using it cause he doesn't have to make the pods first; he just fills it with what he feels like. Also don't fill them completely and leave some room for the water to go through. I am sorry, but Senseo has awful customer service. I sent my defective coffee pot back on the 12 of Dec. I never got the replacement, so called last week and they didn't know why it wasn't resent, but would send it right out.
OMG! You should see the condition of this box. They mailed it out right in the original coffee box you would get at Target. The box is ripped in several areas, dented, retaped, gashes, just demolished. Well, I don't want to use this, as I doubt it will last long.
So I just called them. Too bad as that is UPS fault, not theirs. I understand, but why wasn't it packed up in another box like the first time? They won't replace it, but call UPS and take it up with them.
SO I call UPS and the rep said it sounds like it got caught in the conveyor belt. She would be more than happy to pick it up and resend it back to the company, but it was up to the company to resend another one.
I give up...not worth the hassle over $15. *sigh*:(

I did see the podmaker at Walmart, but they were clearancing them out. I was afraid I would have trouble finding the paper filter refills, and I didn't want to buy them online and have to pay shipping costs to boot. I looked around first for options. This is interesting. I wonder what they're looking for? I'm also wondering if everyone's name will simply go into a pot at the end and they'll simply have a drawing.
Regardless, thanks for passing it on. If anyone wins (or is selected), be sure to let us know.
I was wondering the same thing myself. In the survey, I was caught on the question asking if I already had a single serve coffee machine (I don't). I answered no, and am hoping they will "select me" because I would be truly new to the experience and they want to get the word out. Who knows... I'd love to try it... I hate brewing even a half pot of coffee when all I want is a single cup...

It is really hard to know what they are looking for. The way that I answered my questions, you would think I would have been the perfect candidate. Well, I wasn't chosen. I entered my best friend in it with just average answers and he got chosen (and I got the coffeepot!)
If you want it, you'll eventually get it. If you don't get selected, someone you "know" will. I figure it's their loss that they didn't select me. I was going to put it in my office, which would have been great advertisement for them. Since I didn't get "chosen" it stays in my kitchen, and I don't buy their products to use with it:rolleyes: Yeah, that's me...lookin' at the chip on my shoulder!! LOL!!

The padfilters are great. Scroll back in this thread and you will find a link for them. You can use whatever coffee you want, and the padfilter serves as a little reuseable filter, so you don't have to buy those either. Probably ends up being about 1/4 the cost of buying the refills. mom2fussbudgets is the one who told me about them. Look for her post about it. I am enjoying my coffee maker, too. I love the Vienna Waltz pods. I add some creamer (coffee mate sample that I got free), so sweet & Low, and a small scoop of vanilla ice cream (about golf ball size) I make two cups with one coffee pod. I drink this instead of eating dessert. It is so warm and creamy! Yum, Yum!

I love my Senseo so much that I don't even use my coffeepot anymore. I love my padfilter even more than that. No buying premade coffee pods for me. No matter how cheap they are, they can't be less expensive than using the padfilter. I can use any kind of coffee I want and regulate how strong that I would like it to be. LOVE IT!!!:D

lame i qualified but im not paying 15 bucks:(
 There is nothing "lame" about this offer, it is legit!
This comes with the machine, a starter supply of pods, and a canister.
The $15.00 is only for shipping, these are about $70.00 or so in stores.
If you read through this thread you will see the shipping cost discussed many places, personally I did not hesitate to pay the $15.00 for S&H after qualifying, nor did my mother, however to each his own.
Perhaps, since you qualified, you may want to ask a loved one or close friend if they would want to pay the $15.00 to get one through you (as in you order but share with them) as it is an exceptional deal! :)
They are nice because I love fresh brewed iced tea, DS likes iced coffee, and my parents love coffee when they visit (one regular and one decaf), and my MIL loves a cup of decaf so I can easily make what everyone likes! They are also nice for parties, where you can make hot/iced coffee, hot/iced tea. and specific coffees (they even have a vanilla flavor pod... we bought it but have yet to try it) for each individual person!

I got mine this week. I had actually thought about selling it on ebay since I do have a coffee maker, but then realized that was silly. I'm in the middle of a divorce, I don't have to make a whole pot of coffee (for two) anymore, this little thing is perfect for me. And I never even knew I could make tea with it, it probably uses less energy than my microwave does for heating water. Besides, it looks very stylish sitting on my counter. :) If I can find pods to make cappuccino, I'd pay them another $15 just because they made me so happy.

you can get a neat little device called the coffee duck that is made to go in the senseo just like the pod holders your senseo came with which allows you to use any coffee you want in it, replaces the pods. This one is better than the ecopads or the little plastic ones.

Make coffee (2 cup size) using the Vienna Waltz or Paris flavored pods, add 1/2 pkg of sweetner (Sweet & Low, or equal), a little coffeemate and a small amount of vanilla ice cream (about golf ball size). Delicious! I am going to buy some chocolate ice cream to try in it too, bet it will be great as "Mocha"! Enjoy.:)

Have you looked at your instruction book? I think there is a phone number in it for Phillips (Maker of coffeemaker) and also for Sara Lee (Parent company - I think). If you call either number you will be redirected to the order department. Also, has it been charged to your debit/credit card? If so there may be a phone number available from the credit card company. Worth a try. Good luck!

Kgauger, is it a good machine? Or worth approximately $15? I'm just wondering since so many people seem to have been accepted (and you can buy a coffee machine in Walmart for $15, just not an really good one).
I didn't think to check my bulk mail before deleting it (I never do), so I have no idea if they ever offered me one. I wouldn't have opted to pay the $15 anyway... but just curious as to the quality of the machine. I saw something similar in a store the other day, but I don't remember how much they wanted for them.
You probably WERE qualified...I never got an email either, so I figured maybe I would try again, and here is what I got:
"Sorry, you appear to have already qualified."
so, go back and reregister, it'll let you know if you were or not, and if so....contact them about it!

I love it--it made a really nice cup of frothy coffee--thank God they sent a couple packets of Decaff in the sample box because I wanted to try it last night when I got it right away--and if I had "real" coffee after 7:00, I would not have slept a wink. :p

I just got approved again with a different email and my son's answers:rolleyes: This company is just so bassackwards sometimes. They wouldn't approve me, where the coffeepot would have gotten maximum exposure and PR, but they approved my son that doesn't even drink coffee:rolleyes:
That's OK Senseo....I'll just keep using my little padfilter(so as not to buy your pods) and keep my machine in the kitchen(so my clients don't see it and want one themselves)
Thanks again you bunch of numbnuts!
LOL! That's how most companies seem to be these days

Mine says it should be coming today!! That is really fast. They ship it from my town, so ladies in TN should get theirs rather fast. Hopefully it comes. They tried yesterday but the gates were closed at our apartments so they went back:( My boyfriend needs some cheering up, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it comes today!

The coffee maker came today! I got a text from them saying it was delievered. I can't wait to give it to my honey, he really needs so cheering up from all the stress! He loves coffee, so maybe I can get home before him and have some ready for him when he gets home!!!

Parrothead, try this, make 2 cups with one Paris pod, add some creamer (I use coffeemate), a little sweetner (I use sweet & Low), and a little vanilla icecream (about half golf ball size) Yum, Yum! I usually don't like flavored coffee but after getting the Senseo and "doctoring" the pods, I love it!:)

I use one pod (or one filled padfilter) and use the two cup button.

Ordered mine 6/7, received it 6/19! I love it...except it's RED! YUCK. Oh well, guess I can't complain for $15. Now I have to get to work researching all the old posts about how to make your own pods or where to get them cheaper:D

Thanks for the tip. I added a little sugar to the Paris and I believe it made it taste worse. I am trying the Dark Roast today with a little French Vanilla Coffeemate and sugar. I used one pod and made an 8 oz. Mug, I am liking this so far!! Maybe I am just dull! LOL

I just got mine and it was black. I have been searching Wal-mart for some time now looking for a coffee pot so I could spend a $50 gift card I got for a Christmas gift. Now, I will have to find something else to spend it on. Maybe to buy some more pods, ha, ha. I tried for this a year ago and didn't qualify. I decided to give it another try and this time I qualified. I was a little hesitant about the $15 S&H, but after reading some of your replies, I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. I am the main one in my house that drinks it. My husband hates coffee. The only thing is that my box of 8 coffee pods only had 6 pods in it. The 2 for PARIS weren't in the box and that was the flavor I most wanted to try. Urrrr!!!! But, even if the whole 15 dollars wasn't spent on the S&H, it was still a very good deal. I priced a coffee pot similar to this one, but different name brand, at Wal-mart for $30.
