Does anybody know how to get the sticky residue off of your skin after you have had an IV in your arm from being in the hospital?

Gee, I can relate with this, seems like I had that stuff forever, I just would rub it but I think a better idea would be some mineral oil or baby oil, perhaps that would help removing it, goodluck!

The 2 best ways that I have found are the following: 1) Nail polish remover. Rub with cotton ball or paper towel over sticky tape residue. Comes off after just a few minutes. 2) Alcohol. Same as the first but htis will take a bit longer and a bit more elbow grease. After having my children I found the polish remover to be the best at getting the tape off. You might want to use a wash cloth with either since they have a bit more "scrub" power to them...depending on how much sticky stuff you have left on ya! Good luck.

Soak it in warm water or place a warm cloth over it then use some sort of oil like baby oil, skin so soft or mineral oil and rub it with the cloth.

I would also recommend baby oil. That's what I use after I give blood, and it works really well. Smells good too!

Nail polish remover with acetone works great. It is also good to get Betadine (spelled wrong sorry) off - that stuff is sticky as all get out but nail polish remover works great. Just make sure to keep it out of any open areas.

I agree with the others about using either alcohol or nail polish remover or you can buy 3M Remover Lotion. This will remove iodine and iodine adhesive, tape residue, benzoin, and skin marker. (these are normally used when having
surgery done)
