I would just use some cleanser and scrub it, it cannot hurt the sink if it is made of anything other than plastic.

what is the sink made out of? and what did you use to try and clean it? If you know the manufacturer of the sink, look underneath the sink it may be stamped with the maker, you can contact them on their web site, or there may be a phone number for you to call them. Goodluck. :)

I like to use a product called Soft Scrub. It is a slightly gritty bleach product that is great for taking all sorts of stains out of the sink/tub! I can't promise it will help with a burn, but it has worked on all sorts of things at my house!!

What about a pumice stone? I bought one not too long ago at Walmart (in the cleaning section near the scrub brushes and sponges), and that thing works great! I've been using it on my bathroom sinks, which are porcelain.

I'm so glad you wound up with only burn marks in the sink, and not anything worse! How about putting down several layers of white paper towels, saturating them with bleach & letting them sit like that for as long as you can stand the bleach smell (put on more bleach if they dry out)? Our sink & tub are (very) old, and stain deeply if I'm not careful. We've gotten some really bad stains out this way. Good luck!
