If Creature cat is drinking from the dogs water dish the fierce pitbull waits with his tail between his legs. Everyone knows who runs this house LOL. The other cat, Trouble, must have been a dog in another life. I cant keep that cat out of the trash! The dog is such a sissy that he barks big and makes a fuss through the window at the cats but when they come waltzing in the door he runs to the other room.

My pugmix gets a wild look in her eye at my husband and attacks his arm. She thinks she is a boy dog. We have tried to break her of this, but she is now 3 and continues. So far she hasn't done it in front of company.

We used to have a little dog that would like its tummy rubbed....... from a foot. She would back up to someone sitting cross-legged and she would position herself over the foot, like a hint. lol

My lab mix last August broke her toe and then turned around and tweaked her knee, both in her back legs. The toe never healed and she wore a brace forever. Since then she has been weak and unable to jump up on any thing. Since then I lift her into the car because the last time she tried she fell. We go every other week to get allergy shots, so lifting her 55 pounds is ackward. Well I put her on an arthritis meds for dogs and she improved a little. This week she jumped up on my daughters captains bed. We lifted her down so she wouldn't hurt herself. Yesterday I came home from work and the bag of bagels I left pushed back on the counter was gone and most of the bag. She ate off the counter 4 Sara Lee Large bagels. No more babying for this one! This dog looked guilty.

Did you all happen to see that video of the cat actually flushing the toliet? It's the cutest da* thing. It's on You Tube if you want to check it out. The guy living in the apt. couldn't figure out why his water was running all day (got his bill) hooked up a video camera in his bathroom and caught the kitty actually flushing with his little paws, and then would hang over the bowl to watch the water swirling around and down. Then, he'd do it again. This went on for awhile. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT!

Our dog is afraid of storms. Whenever he senses a storm in the distance he starts barking. He will sit outside his box and bark through the whole storm.I really hate it when its an early morning storm like 4 a.m. we get up early

Bucky just loves plastic bags!! Put a couple on the dining room floor, which has been waxed, and then sit back and watch him run and slide on the bags from one end of the room to the other!! Maybe he slides so far into the rug and it goes sliding into empty pop bottles and knocks them down as if he were the ball in bowling!!! He is very very cute!!

We got our dog from a rescue place 5 years ago, she is a Maltese named Angie, we had a Maltese prior to getting this one he passed 3 years prior to getting this one, so we knew we wanted another Maltese, but this one is almost human, she eats from a fork! my hubby taught her this trick, lol and it is so cute to see, she loves chicken, amoung other foods...and she will not beg, just sits and watches you with her eyes that would melt your heart...anyways she also loves for me to rub her belly and under her arms, I ask her "do you need your arm pits rubbed" and she will take her paw and pull my hand to her body meaning YES! I want you to scratch under my arms...I could go on and on about her, can you tell we love her??? I would kill for her, she is that precious to us! How could anyone ever hurt an animal? They give so much love!

Tucker( my lab mix) has his own cat lol no really he does!! lol We named him Jack and he will come in the house and chill out with Tucker. They curl up together and Jack will lick Tuckers ears and nose and they share toys and when we take Tucker out for a walk Jack followes him all around like a little shadow but if my husband or I try to pet Jack or get close to him... its a no go.. he only likes Tucker lol and Tucker protects Jack. There is another male outside that is always trying to fight with Jack and when Tucker see him he barks and barks to run him off... he never barks at any of the other cats! The two of them also have this food scam going on us. Jack will meow and meow until I put some canned food down for him. When I do he will eat and Tucker will sit on the floor behind him and wait for him to eat his fill and then Tucker eats whats left.. If there is none left jack will meow meow again till I put more down.. Then Jack sits down and lets Tucker have it lol They are too smart for MY own good lol

My dog does the same thing sometimes. It really is funny! He also scratches his feet on the ground after he is done going - doesn't matter if it's #1 or #2. I hate it because it tears up the yard and he gets dirt (or mud, if it's been raining) under his toenails and we have to wipe his feet off before he comes back in the house. If I catch him doing it, I'll yell at him from the door to stop it and he'll turn his head to look at me and just keep going. LOL It's like he's thinking, yes, I hear you, but I'm not going to obey!

Oh, I have a funny one.

When we first got our Jack Russell, Dixie, she was used to being on my sisters farm and running free. She had been in the house for an hour or so and wanted to go out. I opened the door and she came running from the kitchen and ran right into the clear class screen door. It knocked her for a loop.

She hasn't ever done it again. But it was really funny to watch.

My dog Sassy is a German Shepherd. She knows how to open doors, outside gate door (not crazy about this one but then I have to find her), and even sliding doors whenever she wants out. Sure wish she knew how to close doors too.

A couple of times whenever a storm is coming my dog goes crazy looking for hiding spots and tears up my closet, under the bed (my poor kids games and stuff destroyed).

Whenever I eat in bed, my dog whines and then becomes patient waiting for it (hoping for it) and she really watches me closely that whatever I eat is slowly shrinking and when she sees it gets smaller and she couldn't take it anymore jumps on me and takes the food out of my hand or my mouth. LOL! So we make sure that doesn't happen again.

Charlie has a thing for straws....if you are drinking with one, don't turn your back because it will be gone! He plays fetch with them for hours! I put them all in one place when I leave for work in the morning and when I get home they are all over the house. Not to forget to mention I will wake up with several of them in bed with me in the morning as well - he is confused. I think he was a dog in his former life.

I have a nearly 6 month old pekingese and she is soooo cute. At only 5 or 6 lbs she acts like a kitten because she pounces and jumps around on the floor. She also makes these little clicking noises when she pants. And because of her flat little face, she is constantly blowing boogies everywhere. Including on me and my daughter. Here is a pic of her. :)

Thankyou! I just love this dog to peices, she is so smart and listens real well too, this is our second Maltese, the first one was somthing else! His name was Murphy, I called him the ankle biter, he was always in charge and on patrol watching everything!

I trained this one (Angie) after a Pit Bull got into our yard and kept her running for over an hour non stop until I could locate the owner of that dog, I was so scared for my dog, and when she was finally safe inside she was totally exhausted from running, well after that I taught her that when I say Angie come, she comes running, thankfully that Pit Bull did not get her, I would of died right there! and the owner of that dog said I don't know what you were so afraid of, the dog wouldn't of hurt your dog, yeah right, it jumped a 5+ foot tall fence to get to her!

I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of everyone's pets! Thanks so much for sharing. Carol, the web page for Angie is adorable!

One time, I was walking home from a friend's house, and a Pit Bull approached me. He was a friendly fellow, the problem is, he was too friendly! He was young, maybe a year old; but he was very strong, and he kept jumping on me. Every time he did this, he almost knocked me down, and I actually had trouble making it home. I kept telling him in a stern voice to get down, but he would not listen. What if I'd been a little kid? Even though he was not mean, it was a scary experience! Can you imagine what would have happened to me if he was mean? The power these dogs have is frightening.

Carol, the owner of that Pit Bull is an idiot! Poor Angie! I'm glad you were able to train her to listen to you when you say come.

They say cat's don't like water, not this cat. Every time I put my feet in the foot spa , he crawls in. I mean in the water, we also catch him standing in the toilets. My rotti, since a pup, has always crawled in the tub with me, she lays in the water and puts her head on the side of the tub, and goes to sleep while I shave. Yes , I always get up and take a shower, with her at the other end of the tub. But she'll never leave the bathroom until I do. I love my "Racer" (kitty), and Agave'(poopie).

Thank you, Carol. I was always one of those people who didn't want pets. But, when I had kids, they begged and begged me for a dog. They wanted one so badly, how could I say no? I didn't want to be one of those moms who refused to let their kids have a pet. My kids actually cried when I finally relented.

The dog behind us had puppies, and we picked April out first. However, Mandy won our hearts with her friendly personality, so we got two! It is the best decision I have ever made in my life. I love these dogs so much; their soothing presence has helped me make it through some rough spots. They surely do give so much and ask for so little.

dogs have glands on the bottom of thier paws and by " backpeddling" or rubbing his or her paws on the ground after they go to the bathroom is a nautral way of marking thier territory. He's probably thinking to his self If i dont do this, this yard will turn into a circus. racoons, squirrles, cats everywhere!

This actually happened. It is in the Helpful Hints sector of Start Sampling under GUEST CONTRIBUTOR. To get the full effect of my greyhound's antics, go there and read the account.

After a few hours of picking, dodging and weaving, and feeding the fish at the pond with the kids falling in trying to retrieve 3 pieces of pellet food, we went home discussing what we’d do with the apples. Well, y’all know what my plans were, but the kids had others. We were greeted at the door by our very happy-to-see-us, exuberant greyhound. One of the kids brought in their bag of apples and showed them to her. It was bowling for apples in the family room!!! The dog thought it was time to play “Roll and Bite” with the apples, and the kids were laughing too hard to put them back into the bag and bring them to the kitchen. I went in and started to retrieve them. Don’t bend over to pick up apples in front of a crazy, exuberant greyhound. They immediately think you’re there to play “Poke ya in the buns”----it’s a greyhound thing, folks. I was picking up as fast as I could---kids were weak laughing at the scene and no help----when she ran full-speed at my rear end, sending me sprawling full-eagle on top of the apples. I’m a big gal, old, and don’t get up from a prone position on the floor quickly. Just when I thought I had my balance, an apple would roll and down I’d go again. Why is it this slap-stick is so funny to everyone but the fallen one? The dog continued to play “Poke ya in the buns” until I tossed an apple into the other room and she ran after it. Finally, I was able to get up.

I know this is an old thread but my dogs are crazy. We have a sliding glass door going to our balcony, and when there are bugs on the other side, they try to attack them through the glass until the bug flies away! Baby, when she gets excited she rubs her bottom on the carpet, but not in a line like most dogs, she does it in a circle. She howls if you don't pay attention to her and she burps really loud also, like louder than a human! Peanut, he doesn't like to eat out of the normal dog bowl so when he sees an empty bowl, he picks it up to where his head is inside the bowl and walks around, which since he can't see, he has a tendency to run into walls and such. They are so funny. I love them both so much (when they are behaving of course).

What kind of dogs are they? We had a Maltese prior to the one we have now, he was a real spitfire and in control of everything...I would say Fly-E and he would race to the sliding glass door and watch for flies, sit there and be on guard, then I'd say Squirrel-E and he would jump on the seat on the bay window and guard the front of the house. It was funny to watch him be "on guard" the little stinker!

Ha that is so funny. Our dogs love to chase squirrels too! Baby is a Corgi/Blue Heeler mix and Peanut is a Chihuahua/Terrior mix. We got them in Hawaii and when we moved back, we couldn't leave them. Baby used to chase the pigeons on the beach, and she would run through people sitting on their towels to get to them. It was pretty funny. I think she might have liked that more than getting in the water. Right now Peanut is under a blanket and Baby is attacking him onto it. They are crazy!

Oh squeakers don't last long in this house. They are out of the toy within about an hour of them getting it. They keep them around though so that they can throw them in the air and catch them. It is pretty funny. Laser pointers are a fun source of entertainment too, but if they are both out they get to fighting cause they think the other one caught it!

We used to have a pet rat, Bud, who would get out of his cage at night. When he was ready to go back in, he'd crawl up in my bed and wake me up with kisses so I'd put him away.

That is crazy. The first time he did this I think I would scream. I didn't know that rats could give kisses.

My dog won't stop barking and howling in my face right now. She wants me to play, but the squeaker is SO annoying.

He did startle me a time or two. Trust me, rats CAN fly.

The woman who lives behind us has a pet rat, it's really her sons rat but she carries it around inside her top. One day I was talking to her and she is reaching inside her top....... I said what are you doing, she says I am playing with my rat, I say yeah right, she grabs him and brings him out...just about scares me to death! I have never been around a pet rat, she says oh this one is loveable, he likes to stay under my B00Bs...that is a tad too much, even for me! The mental picture

Everyone who has had one always said they were really sweet. This is a little scary though. Do they smell? I have seen people carry around their mini squirrel thing (I forget what they are called) but not their rat. I want one of the mini squirrels but they hiss at you and I think they might even spit. They are not very people friendly. Once we move I am buying my boyfriend a kitten, and I think I might get another Chameleon. I miss mine SO much!

Rats Rock!!! They are very social and friendly and you can train them to do stuff like climb a ladder, walk a tightrope, play soccer and basketball (no kidding!), get back in the cage, etc. They do have a fondness for chewing on your fingernails, tho.

We had another rat, Frodo, and a guinea pig, Bilbo Baggins, and they lived together. Between them they developed some kind of language so that they actually talked to each other. When Frodo passes away, Bilbo just cried for days! It was so sad.

Aww. That's so sad. I would get a rat, but I don't think I could talk Seth into it, and I think it would still kind of freak me out. Do they smell or anything? I really want another Chameleon. We had a big tree in our living room and we would put him in there and he would just chill. When you walked up the only way you could find him is he would rock back and forth so you would see it shaking (they do that to act like a leaf thinking they blend it!). They are so expensive here though. In Hawaii you just go on this one hike to the waterfall thats like a 2 mile hike in, and you just really really have to watch and you can find one. They are so cool.

No, they don't get stinky or anything. Just keep their cage up like you would with any other small furry. They are pretty low maintenance pets, they're smart and fun, they're fairly cheap to buy, and you can scare people like Carol with them! :p

Ha ya I bet I could scare alot of people with it. I don't think I could put it in my bra though, even though it would have a TON of room. Haha!

When we went grocery shopping yesterday, the toddler was closely watching two children run about willy-nilly with their mini-shopping carts while their father kept trying to corral them and get them to slow down. After we started home in the car, the toddler laughed and said, "That man with the little children said 'I'm too old for this job'". I always get a kick out of how the toddler calls young children, even though they are older than her, "little" boys, girls, children. The quote and the fact she thought it was funny was neat, too.

That is so cute! I love kids. I can't wait to have one, but I am a little too young to have one yet. If I was financially stable right now, I totally would. My boyfriend and I would be GREAT parents! Not to mention they would be really cute!!

I was a single career woman for a long time, but I always loved kids, too. You couldn't keep me away from a sale rack of baby and kids clothes or toys even then--there was always somebody who would be having a baby or a children's birthday party soon. You have a great attitude and a lot to look forward to when you do have kids!

I have a weiner dog puppy that just loves to be loved. Whenever my husband plays with her and she starts to get hyper she starts marching around like a high stepping horse. It is so funny because her legs are so short!
