Ok- Chef Ramsey is better than ever on this show- has anyone watched yet? I will be glued to this show as well!!

I can not believe this restaurant was open for business?!!! Ramsey was awfully nice to redo the whole kitchen for them!!

Peter-well glad he was put in his place - I can not stand egotistical men like that!!

Any thoughts??

I loved it! I've watched the British version on BBC America for a few years and like that too.

There were a few times when I thought Chef Ramsay was going to go off on some people, but he didn't do it every single time.

The whole time my husband and I were watching, I couldn't believe Peter. I kept saying "What a jacka**!" I can't stand people like that - he was such an egotistical bully! I was glad he got put in his place too.

Can't wait for the next episode!

I would hate to have lived in that area and seen a restaurant that I may have gone into.... GROSS! The roaches and all that rotten food... man alive they were begging to get sued! Gordon is aweeesome! I have loved watching him for a long time.. you either love him or hate him!~

Anyone ever had to pleasure of being in one of his restaurants? Wow.. saw London and would KILL to go to it!

You know the sad thing is some of the restaurants that we eat at might look like that.

I really cannot believe that place is still open.

Another great episode!! The manager needed to get fired in my opinion- ya just don't yell at your boss/owner like that. He was acting like a 4 year old having a tantrum. I hope they keep this show on for a long time. I know millions of restaurants that could use Chef Ramsays Swift expertise!

This is a great show, I agree about the manager....but you know they have to have some drama in the show.....it is amazing how Chef Ramsey can turn a restaurant around..if they listen to him! I love the transformation they do inside the restaurant too, great show!!!

Not only were the walls gross with grease, but the food containers that Chef Ramsey was looking through! Ugh!....and the mom said they got a 95 on the health inspection....sure, if you know they are coming you clean up your act, but what happens after than? back to the old way....great show!

Man that guy had some ego trip goin' on!! Ramsay was o very cool while talking to Sebastian. What a man!! :D Great episode!- and at least the guys kitchen wasn't dirty- he just couldn't cook- I think he was more of a warmer-upper LM*O.

Sebastian was so rude. I wonder if the producers tell the restaurant owners to be as horrible as possible. Either way, it's still a good show.

Seems to me Sebastian's wife had some money and he just needed to do something to look like he earned his keep and all he really wants is to be famous. I mean, really, he's an actor? And franchising that mess? I still don't understand his original menu except for the fact that everything was frozen.

But the extensive menu is what they were known for! And everyone loved that menu style! HA! Sebastian was delusional. Glad he saw the light in the end. Gordon knows what he's talking about. Every episode, my husband and I always say, first thing he's going to do is cut down the menu!

That Sebastian was something else. Hate to tell him a "20 Combination Menu" is nothing new. . .it's called a BUFFET!!!!:p Anyone who truly wants to be a cook/chef would be embarrassed to service so many premade and frozen items. I think Sebastion needed to sell his business to Lou-at least she had a passion and love for what she was doing.

The chef on last nights show was just out of his mind. How he thinks having a few return customers beats having a packed house everynight....sheesh, its no wonder he is up to his eyeballs in debt. I wonder if the Secret Garden will thrive after Chef Ramseys visit... or if it has since bottomed out.

Even though past episodes had an update when a restaurant closed or was sold, I have a feeling that this place went under. Chef Michel didn't seem to want to make any changes and what did he say, he was in $300,000 debt?

I believe he quoted the 300K range - not something most people would swallow with a smile. I've know his arrogant snobbish type before... they don't ever feel they are wrong and have that "My poo doesn't stink" attitude. He even admitted to using the customers reviews to stroke his ego. I highly doubt he would see the benefit to the changes even if someone knocked sense into him with a frying pan.

...What is sad is the employees did seem to care about the state of things :(

That Chef Michel was something else. I can't believe that he wanted to blame Gordan for overseasoning the Food Critic's Dish. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe these chefs can be so dense--of course I've been to a few bad restaurants in my day and I shouldn't be suprised! Does anyone watch the BBC Version of this show? I normally don't watch to many British based shows but it's very similar to the American Version and quite good.

Scarlet
12-13-2007, 09:51 PM
I could NOT believe when Chef Michel was going to send out that dish of his to make the food critic happy....that looked like a pile of fry sticks. I wouldn't serve it to anyone...especially not a food critic!

Our cable company doesn't offer the BBC channel. I wish it did, I would watch the British version of this and so many other things I've heard about.

You would think the restaurant's staff would be more concerned as good food = more people = more tips.

I don't understand why all the chefs and managers get so mad at Ramsey and don't listen to him. Don't they apply to the be on the show?

Scarlet

And what a way to start off the season! Another owner of a FAILING restaurant making it sound like Chef Ramsey is just some clueless goof. The Handlebar owner, Billy seemed like a little pouty kid when he didn't get the pat on the back he was looking for. Okay....so maybe the place looked better than when he bought it - but the walk-ins were still gross!!! Men with big egos rarely do well in a buisness setting.

It's the second. Actually the third if you count the first one when Gordon just revisted the places from last season.

Saw that Gordon signed on for 2 more seasons of this and Hell's Kitchen and a new show like his BBC Man Camp where he takes men whose wives feel have become to feminine or something like that.

That place is only about 5 miles from my house - never been there but have passed it several times a week. I don't think it really looked that bad - it wasn't dirty, didn't have any spoiled food. My husband & I keep saying we should go there and see if they are still serving Gordon's recipes - I guess he was there in May.

I love it also!

I almost barfed when they showed all the food that they were serving to the customers. G.R.O.S.S.!

I am glad that Chef Ramsey told all those people to stop eating their food and go home!

That restaurant is lucky that they never killed anyone.
