I am a foster parent for an animal rescue. I would like to know if it is allowed to post pictures of my cute little angels. They are up for adoption and are so cute it hurts. What do you guys think?

sarasarax2,
Thank you so much for fostering! We got our silly pitbull from a local foster group, Two Left Paws. She'd been rescued from a 16 year-old, who had been hiding her from her parents, in a cooler in her closet! We not only gained Payton, but we gained her foster parents as new friends too. Whenever we bring Payton out to TLP events, they are always happy to see her & introduce her to anyone who will listen. Payton is a fine example of how American Pit Bull Terriers can be (goofy, softhearted little clowns), and we're absolutely convinced that her foster parents are part of the reason she's so sweet.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my (& my family's) heart! Hugs to you & your furbabies.

I figured I would post on this thread mnd maybe post updates on some of my fosters. I saw there are a few others that foster, we could share tips, updates, stories and more...

Here's my current foster friend, Gonzo.
He is a 2 year old Wire Hair Fox terrier. He was saved from a kill shelter in our area with very underweight and Heartworm postive. He will receive treatment in about 3 weeks, so he will be at my house for a while longer. lol.

Aww, bless his heart! He is sooo cute!! This is why I cannot be a Vet person! I have such a soft heart with animals it's not even funny... I can't stand to see them suffer or there sweet little faces in those cages... it just tares me apart. I'm sure it's not that bad, but still. I'm grateful for those of you out there that can do this! b/c I'm a big animal lover!

Often times doing foster care for rescue we hear people say "i couldnt foster, I would want to keep them all" BUT i dont want to keep them all. I know that for every spot that is taking up by a personal dog or a foster dog that's a spot a dog waiting in the shelter could be taking.
So I have 2 of my own and foster one.
I have a cat that has kind of made its way into our lives. Shes just a stray, lol, but sooo SWEET!!! i am getting her fixed monday, so no kitties!!!! Maybe I can manage to find her a good home... i dont know. I like her too much.

foster dogs...
got to love them.
let this be a lesson to us all.
If you plan to take an unfamiliar dog into your home (or car) it would be a smart idea to "puppy/dog proof" the area.
I found my $400 leather jacket (I didnt buy it...my parents did for a grad gift) chewed up by Gonzo in my car.
My husband's words (and I have to wonder as well) were "what was a leather jacket doing in your car in the middle of summer in texas? The high was 100 degrees today!" lol.
Sooooo... that's how my day has been.
I am not too upset though, atleast I have plenty of time to replace the jacket, which something MUCH cheaper of course.

Foster dogs... you got to love them.

(dont let this story detour you from fostering if you origionally planned to) lol

Its okay though.
I have had (in the last year)
a leather jacket,
my husbands pants,
3 pairs of flip flops
chewed up...
thats pretty good! Considering the number of dogs that have come through! :D

Gnzo will start treatment on auagust 8th!!!! If he does good then 2 weeks after that he will go to his forever home!!!!

I will get my very first foster KITTEN on thursday night or friday!!! Wish me luck.Any good ideas, advice or suggestions?
She is about 3 months old and a little ferrell. She was rescued from an ampty house with 3 other kittens when she was only 6-7 weeks old. We have been working on socailizing her, but she is still not as tame as the other 2. We decided to split the 3 up so they would be forced to interact with people instead of them teaming up against us. lol.

I havn't had a kitten in SEVERAL years... lol.... I don't know what to expect.
She's beatiful though,. can't wait to post pictures!!!!

how awesome! A little kitty!!!
I will never forget when my cat was a little kitten. She was so playful and curious. She actually let me pick her up.
Now, not so much. She thinks shes the queen of the house. She smacks the dogs if they get too close. And thinks it's okay to walk all over the counter and cry for food. all day long... I still love her though.
Have fun with the Kitty!!!!! Post a picture!

My parents adopted a ferrell cat and he is sooo mischievious! He has the LOUDEST meow and he is always hiding. He loves to play with catnip filled toys and that will make him come outta hiding. The best thing I can tell you is to keep her in the room with you and your family. She will hide all the time if you let her, but if you want her socialized....make her butt stay with you. My parents cat, Sam, finally warmed up to them after a few months. Oh and setting out a saucer of wet food will help too LOL:)

She is fairly young and isnt TOO ferrell... just a little. She doesnt lie it when people pet her... but she doesnt mind playing.
