I emailed Beechnut weeks ago and asked them about there free offers, they never answered me! I don't think these are good anymore, you can try but don't hold your breath.

My friend previously did this and wasn't able to get both the bib and the bowl (from the previous offers)- she only got one. You can only get it if you are signing up for the first time and you are supposed to be the one with the child, so I can't request this in my name for her- you have to put the baby's information down and I am certainly not going to make something up.

Hmmm...thats really weird...when they offered it without the spoon, I signed up for it and the bib on the same day and got both of them (bowl and bib)...

I am glad that this offer finally made it through. I posted it a while back (beechnut bowl and spoon offer) and it was immediately deleted like I never even posted it. I guess it was deleted because I posted it. I watch this forum closely and notice who has been blackballed. You post your samples and then hope that it makes the cut. But some people can post just about anything and they don't even think about deleting it. Sometimes I post things, notice that its been deleted and then see the same post a few days or weeks later and it remains. It's a shame. BTW---Thanks for the post!!

I posted this ont he toher thread about the bowl but I'll say it again here. The bowl is cheap and breaks so easily. (You cannot microwave in it either) My 3 year old was eating spaghetti noodles out of it and he stabbed them a bit too hard with a toddler fork and it chipped a hole all the way through and we had it only a day or so and I handwashed it! BE CAREFUL OF THIS BOWL!

I received a bowl the other day (and a bib, wasn't too impressed with the bib, but love the bowl), the bowl is nice - similar to others you pay $5 or so for at the grocery store or Target! Yes, you can't microwave the bowls (they will become brittle and break/crack if you do), but you can wash them in the dishwasher on the top rack!

At least if you purchased this form Target or another store you could return it if it broke! We literally had it less than a day and it broke under normal circumstances. I dont know, I understand it was a freebie and all but maybe I was expecting something of better quality. The fact that it is Melamine and from China, well, that is another post for another time. :rolleyes:

I have to agree on the from "china" quality, I had a bowl that the bottom fell out, this happened on a Martha Stewart mixing bowl,..... I recently purchased a set of Melmac bowls from Costco, and there is something wrong with them, it is as if something is oozing from the plastic, it appears like small checking and if you rub on it, it smears.......I have scrubbed them, and it still happens, so they are going back, who knows what they used in the process of making them! remember you are using a plastic bowl for your baby and it comes from China....be careful.

Oh for sure they are going back, have you ever seen anything like this on any plastic bowls or any plastic Melmac? you kinda have to turn the bowl so the light hits it just right, and then you see little checking marks, sorta looks like tiny tic tac toe game......hard to explain...scary for sure.

Good point! Didn't think to look where it is made!! I've been really careful to check where our food is coming from (even went so far as to call Gerber . . . ), but never thought to check what were eating with!!

I have seen that form the dollar store dishes before we stopped using it. (We were feeding the local ferral cat population inthe neighborhood after we trapped them and got them fixed and I figured if my bowls broke or dissappeared it wouldn't matter much!) Isn't Melamine the stuff the Chinese companies added the the pet food to raise the protein level? Anyone else remember that?

Yes, I think that is exactly what they got caught putting in the dog food, Melamine.......gee that is scary.......amazing how we never heard of dogs in China getting sick.........but then they do not divulge much information.....

Yep. You gotta wonder what they feed the dogs and remember in some cases there are markets where they are sold for comsumption. I would imagine there is some kind of cross-over contamination form what the animals eat and how it effects humans. :eek: It is everywhere though, they just got caught. THAT is the scary part!
