My new grandbaby was born premature

Please say a prayer for my new grandbaby she was born last night about a month premature, she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and has been having trouble breathing, her face looks all bruised and she cant eat so they are feeding her through iv. They are sending her down to the childrens hospital sometime today. My son and his girlfriend are very upset and having a hard time I told them to try not to stress it is really affecting them. I know how hard it is for them but I am not sure they can come through this together if something happens, they also hav a 1 year old and he don't need to feel that kind of stress either. But, I am praying for them and I know a lot of people will. I always say prayers for people whn they need it. Thanks everyone.
I just want to say thank you all for everything. I have a very important update. This morning my grandbaby ciara was given her wings from god and went to be with him. She will be loved forever and missed deeply, we just thank god he gave us this little bit of time to see her. I could use some extra prayers for my son and daughter in law though they are really having a hard time with this. I might not be back on here for a few days but know my heart and prayers are always with all of you. Thanks again

I would be more than happy to mail some informational materials to them to maybe put their mind at ease as much as possible. The materials include a baby journal, NICU Guide and Glossary, Parenting in the NICU and other family centered care information.

Please send me their mailing address in a PM(if it is okay with them) and I will get them information ASAP. I think they really use something to give them information and an understanding of the NICU.

Prayers to the entire family..............My 1st grandson, Benjamin was born 6 weeks premature.........he also had to be fed w/IV for short while. It was hard on the family as it was the 1st child for my son & DIL..........it was depressing when Jessica went home & had to leave her baby at hospital.
As hard as it was,,,,,,,,,,,,,,now, almost 6 years later...........it truly was a blessing as it strengthened the bonds between the entire family........I have 2 more beautiful grandbabies.......none premature.....
My only advice is just be willing to listen..........hug & yes, even cry w/them if they need that........remember 3 things that are true about people in general:
They want to know you are listening
They want to know they are being heard
& they want to know that it matters what they said & what you heard!!
Embrace this time to come together as family.............hugs & prayers to you & your family. And though, it might not help to hear this right now..........but God never gives us more than we can handle.

I have said a prayer for your grand daughter. My own daughter was born 6 weeks premature and I know how worrisome it is at first. She also had a few difficulties eating and had to be fed through an IV for about 3 weeks. Once they get her eating on her own, hopefully things will go much more smoothly. Your kids reaction to this is perfectly normal. Just be there to listen to them, and we will be here to listen to you. Hugs to you grandma, and congratulations. :)

maybe a rough beginning for her will mean that all difficulties in life will be put behind her right away. i know this is a scary situation, and your family must be terribly upset and worried... but through prayer and love, miracles can come. prayers and loving thoughts for your family and new baby.

Thought I would update,
Yesterday before they sent the baby down to the childrens hospital they took some pictures of her for the family and also my son and girlfriend decided to have the chaplin come in and bless her, I think it comforted them so much because it was like a peace filled ther hearts and my son told me " I know I was really upset last night but now I fee 100 % positive that she is going to be ok" I told him thats the power of prayer. God will look after her no matter what happens. The doctor told them this morning that she is sleeping soundly and they are going to try again later today to try to feed her, he also said she will probably only bein there about a week or so. Thank you everyone for all your prayers. I feel truely blessed for ever finding this site and being a part of it. I consider all on here my true friends.
