If you love to read you have to check out paperbackswap.com. You list the books you have to swap- paperback or hardback -and when someone requests one of them you send it to them and get a credit that you can use to order one from someone else. They give you 3 free credits to start. Right now there are over 1 million books listed in every genre. And not old books either. In 6 months I have mailed out over 100 books and received 82 books all in great condition. The site has a lot of great features and has saved me a fortune . No gimmicks, easy to use.

I have been a member of paperbackswap for sometime...its a great way of getting rid of books you have read (or haven't lol) and then getting one you might want too:)!

What a great tip and idea! I have a ton I've read and don't know what to do with (other than donating them to the local library) so, thanks for sharing! ;)

This site sounds great! I have one question though:

When you send out a book say for the $1.59 Media rate, do you have to pay any extra charges with the web-site? I took the tour of the site, but wasn't exactly sure how that worked out. Can you pay for the Media Mail Rate through PayPal?

Did any of that make sense? Haha!!

There are no fees at all with this site. Your only cost is the postage to mail the book requested from you. You just take the book to the post office and pay there. When you join the site one of the member guides will contact you to offer to answer any questions . Great people. You get 3 free books right from the start. I have sent out so many books I no longer wanted to people who really wanted them and received so many books I had been unable to find or afford. There are over 1 million books on the site and you can choose any of them. I visit every day just to check out the new books.

I was just wondering about your ID name. When I was married to my ex, my last name was Flynn (yup, it's true... I really was Lynne Flynn :p )

I was unimpressed with Paperbackswap. The books I received were in lousy condition. One had something sticky all over the cover. Thanks, but I'll stick with Amazon.com for my used books.

I have belonged to this club for 2 years and all but 1 of the books I received have been in excellent condition. And that book was a hard-to-find book that I requested from the sender even after being informed of the less than perfect condition. The people who run the group impress upon all members to never send any book you wouldn't want to receive. I have received so many books at only the cost of postage and made many great friends.
And my ID name comes from a carbuerator I made my husband buy at a flea market. It was partly brass and looked like a piece of art to me! I love it.

I learned about this elsewhere, and am in love with this site!

I have 3bks to mail 2morrow, I received one, and shipped one out already, I think. I just adore this site. My only problem is deciding what book I want!!!
What I'm gonna do is, read what I've requested right away, if zi dont wanna keep, post it, then order another. Great site, it really is:D
