Announced as Class 1 recalls by the FDA on 8/8/07 and 8/13/07--

Toothpaste recall for high levels of diethylene glycol (DEG)--yes, the toothpaste was made in China, a recent source of so many recalls:

DentaPro brand CAVITY FIGHTING FLUORIDE TOOTHPASTE, FRESH SPEARMINT FLAVOR, NET WT. 6.4 oz. - Item No. 9112, UPC 8 71290 – 00062 5 (Distributed by Donnamax)

Bright Max Toothpaste, NET WT. 6.4 oz. - Item No. 9111 (Distributed by Donnamax)

And, for those who recently traveled and brought back home some of the complimentary hotel toiletries, a large worldwide toothpaste recall for the very same problem:

Gilchrist & Soames 0.65oz/18ml toothpaste manufactured in China--distributed by Gilchrist & Soames of Indianapolis from their US and UK warehouses to "hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, Barbados, Dominican Republic or Turks & Caicos that received the recalled toothpaste from the company’s United States distribution center, and those located in the U.K., Ireland, Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the UAE serviced by the company’s U.K. distribution center, are being asked to destroy any remaining inventory."

 For this reason, I stay with American brands, or baking soda and salt.
