Publix Super Markets Inc., is recalling “Publix GreenWise Chocolate and Vanilla Whey Protein Powders” due to undeclared milk.

The product was distributed throughout the Publix Super Markets chain.
The 15.5-oz. Publix GreenWise Chocolate Whey Protein Powder bears lot numbers 905036, 905037, 905038, 905039, and 905040, with an expiration date of 05/2012 and UPC 41415-55077.

The 13-oz. Publix GreenWise Vanilla Whey Protein Powder bears lot numbers 906022, 906023, 906024, 906025, and 906026, with an expiration date of 06/2012 and UPC 41415-54977.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Chandler, AZ – July 06, 2009 – A limited number of Publix GreenWise Vanilla and Chocolate Whey Protein Powders is being recalled by the manufacturer as they may contain undeclared milk ingredients. Persons who have an allergy to milk run the risk of a serious or possible life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected product.

“The recall was initiated after a review of the labels revealed lacking, insufficient, or inaccurate information about Milk Allergens,” said Jim Sarti, Arizona Nutritional Supplements VP, Quality Assurance. "As part of Publix commitment to food safety, they are asking customers to return the product for a full refund or replacement. There have been no reported cases of illness.
