Carol, that port will be a life-saver for her veins while she's going through chemo. I had one put in when I went through chemo. It sure was nice not to have to be poked in the vein each week. I told my surgical oncologist that I didn't need one because I have good veins. He told me I was getting one. lol I'm glad I did. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Michele.

She is still in the hospital as far as I know. If it hasn't healed by today she will not be able to go to Las Vegas for the Gamma Knife procedure tomorrow. I don't know if they would even do it knowing this just happened...

Hi ladies, I just got back last night from spending 4 days with my daughter who is still in the hospital in Bullhead City, Arizona. She went in the hospital on July 7th to have the IV Port put in and while doing that they punctured her lung. She just got news this morning that the lung has finally healed. That is a true blessing!
They plan on keeping her another 2 days or so because they want to make sure the Port is going to work, thus far they have not used it...

I can't even express how happy I was to see my daughter and grandkids. Thankfully my grandkids did not forget me!

I don't know what God has planned for my daughter, but I can tell you this, she is one brave lady.

Thanks Kim, I am positive prayers were answered. Monday she was told that the tear started out at 3 milimeters and enlarged to 6 ml, that is why they took out the drainage tube....they didn't want to risk infection. She did much better when they took the tube out! Her breathing and spririt lifted 10 fold.

Hi ladies, thank you all again for the prayers, it means so much to my family.

I want to thank Jude and Brandy for the beautiful cards they sent me.

I talked to Michele this morning. The doctor changed her pain meds to a Morphine based pain pill, she said those are just starting to work. Once they get her pain under control they are going to move her to a rehab center until she is able to go to Las Vegas for the gamma knife surgery. In the meantime she is suppose to start new Chemo Pills next Thursday and they they will go to the next step with prayers and luck.

Michele is staying so positive. She asked me to say thank you to everyone who has prayed for her, thank you ladies!!

"Update on Michele: Gamma Knife procedure went very well :) There were 3 more tiny spots on the brain as well as the larger one but they were able to get them all yesturday. We are all glad that this is done so the process of healing can continue. She is getting stronger and was a very brave woman yesterday. Hi ladies, I just got back last night from spending 4 days with my daughter who is still in the hospital in Bullhead City, Arizona. She went in the hospital on July 7th to have the IV Port put in and while doing that they punctured her lung. She just got news this morning that the lung has finally healed. That is a true blessing!
They plan on keeping her another 2 days or so because they want to make sure the Port is going to work, thus far they have not used it...

I can't even express how happy I was to see my daughter and grandkids. Thankfully my grandkids did not forget me!

I don't know what God has planned for my daughter, but I can tell you this, she is one brave lady.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, they are being answered one by one.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes. So far, I am holding up ok. I just feel helpless not being able to do more for Michele. I know she is being looked after really well. Her best friend, Erika, has been down the same road as Michele, different circumstances, but was given just a 5% chance of surviving. She is now going on her 11th year as a double transplant survivor. She is a great hope to all of us, especially Michele.

I spoke to Michele for about 20 minutes this afternoon. She sounded really good, and didn't seem to be winded at all. She told me all about the Gamma Knife procedure, that she was awake for the whole thing. She said it didn't hurt, just the feeling of pressure that felt weird. They were able to zap all 4 spots. I know those prayers were answered, and I thank you all.
She will be calling her doctor on Monday to see what the next step will be, she is ready to get on with it.

There will be no more treatments for Michele. She is simply worn out. The cancer is much bigger than she is.
My son in law took Michele to the doctor today and he said Chemo would be fruitless, it would make her much weaker and sicker than she is right now. Tomorrow hospice is coming. I will be going to see her next week.

I cannot tell you how numb I feel.
Please pray for pain relief and comfort.

Now, it is in His hands. My MIL had similar situation years ago.
They wouldn't even offer Chemo because of her age. She was only 66 yrs old.
She outlived the medical professions' predictions by over a year.
Hospice was absolutely wonderful for the family. A real Godsend.

Today has been hard for Dh and I, we've been going over all the events from yesterday.
