I needed to go to the library today, and since Walgreen's is pretty close, I decided to stop in and get my free Johnson & Johnson's product!

I picked out a bottle of shower gel, and when I checked out, the system would not let me use the coupon because the shower gel was $3.99 and the coupon was for $4.00. I had to go pick out something else to buy. Fortunately, Walgreen's had milk on sale for $2.49 a gallon, so I did not end up getting something I really didn't want or need. It was kinda annoying though.

I got mine at Wally's today! The price on it was $4.94 but that's ok, because I only had to pay 49 cents!! Can't wait to try it tonight!!!

I used my coupon at Walgreens the other day. Since it was on sale for $3.99 and the coupon was for $4.00 it wouldn't go thru at the register. The cashier called a manager and ended up giving me the $3.99 off, which is ok, but doesn't the store end up getting the full $4.00 from the mfgr anyway? I bought several other items as well, so they wouldn't have been giving me any money back. I have had this same problem at Wal-Mart as well, when the coupon is for more off than the item price. That time the cashier was outright refusing to let me use it so I had to go to customer service to complain (and they gave me the price of the item off instead of the full amount and apologized for the rude cashier). This situation is annoying and sometimes a little embarassing depending on how the cashier handles it. Anyone else have this problem?

I find most interactions I have with cashiers at Wal-Mart tend to hurt my brain (I am sure there are good ones out there, just not at mine). I went to purchase some Olay face stuff because it was cheaper there and I had a coupon. The coupon said it was for "any" Olay face product. The register wouldn't take it (I was in the self checkout). The lady came over to help and said I couldn't use the coupon. When I asked why, she said because what I was buying was not on the picture on the coupon. Never mind that it said ANY Olay face product, she was going off the picture on the coupon. I was peeved. Didn't even buy the product because she was so annoying.

Cath, read my post above yours; I had this problem too. It's especially annoying because it was only for a penney!

I used my coupon at Walgreen's the other day and I paid a total of $0.26 for the bottle of body wash. The cashier had to take the $3.99 off instead of the $4.00 but for what I paid for it that was fine with me.

Mom, I had read your post before I went to Walgreens, but I thought you said that they took the full $4.00 off since you purchased the milk with it. Of course if they made you buy something else because of that coupon that was wrong because they should have just took the $3.99 off as an option in that case. Sometimes I go to stores with this same situation and the cashier just takes the full amount off-alot of times this happens to me when I find an item on clearance. Personally I think if they are going to get the full amount back from the manufacturer, they should be giving us the full amount off. I don't stress over the penny either, but I do hate holding up the line when the cashier doesn't know what to do with the coupon and if they ever give me a problem like the Wal-Mart cashier I mentioned earlier, I am going to really complain because they shouldn't embarass you when you aren't doing anything wrong.

What I meant by only a penney is that they would not honor the coupon and it was only a penney off. How annoying! I would not stress over a penney, and of course you wouldn't either.

I had some coupons for Glucerna shakes and cereal, and they ended costing far less than the coupon was for (at Walmart). But, the clerk at Walmart took the entire coupon value off of my purchase! Walgreen's was nitpicking in my opinion, and like I said, it was for a penney! And, I agree with you, the manufacturer is going to honor the coupon for $4.00 face value anyway! I can't get over the fact that they would risk alienating a customer for a penney!

Know what really hacks me off? Later on, I looked at my receipt, and the clerk ended up charging me $4.02 for the body wash. What the heck? Why didn't he just do that to begin with? What a jerk! Which also means that I bought that milk needlessly. Fortunately, milk doesn't go bad at my house.

I know what you mean about the cashier's and coupons. I had a coupon for $1.00 off Cat's Pride litter and our Wal-Mart would not accept it. The cashier said that if they don't scan, they aren't allowed to take them... She said that most of the coupons printed online will not scan. Anybody else had that problem?

Thanks all, new to site... Love it.....

No, I have not had that problem, and I have printed a ton of online coupons. Did the cashier even try to scan it? Know what I would do? Ask the manager or someone at customer service about it. Sometimes, those Walmart cashiers are so misinformed it's not even funny. Last time I had a problem it's because I wanted to use a competitor's ad to buy milk. The ad was a 10 for $10 deal, and the cashier said I had to buy 10 in order to get that price, which is absolutely not true! I had to go to CS in order to get my ad honored.

I've not had that problem. but.. if the coupon says 2 for they will go through my bag and look at the little receipt they print out to make sure I have bought 2 of them.

If it doesn't scan they will also look back through the bags .I think they get way to technical surely someone out there has bought this item without a coupon.

I personally haven't had that problem, but alot of people in this forum have (there is a post about it titled "Coupons not good"). After hearing about this I have started to get paranoid that they will end up refusing my coupon when I use one. So far the 2 Wal-Marts I have shopped at have accepted them (although I think they all have scanned). I wonder why there isn't more consistency between the stores on policies?? Mom2fussbudgets were you talking about ad matching at Wal-Mart?? The one I went to before I moved didn't ad match at all. I will have to check if this other one does.

Also, welcome to the forum boothillbum!!

I have also had the same problem. Many cashiers look at people with coupons as real huge pains or almost a con artists type person. I have had problems at walmart too. One time the cashier refused to take all online coupons and I asked to see a manager and the cashier was told to take online coupons.
next time just ask to see the manager, usually they make it right.

Yes, I am talking about ad matching. I am so grateful Walmart does this, but I get frustrated sometimes because of the inconsistency. It all depends on the cashier you get a lot of the time. When I have a problem though, like sara said, all I have to do is go to Customer Service and they will make it right (a pain though).

I boycott Walmart because of a coupon issue. I printed a coupon for 50 cents off on a roll of Viva paper towels. I had about $70.00 worth of stuff in my cart, checked out, handed the cashier my 50 cent coupon and was informed they don't take computer coupons. I left the store, not paying for my goods, shopped elsewhere using my coupon. I e-mailed Kimberly Clark, they in turn mailed me $3.00 in coupons. I complained to Walmart corporate who in turn e-mailed me there policys on computer coupons. Mine had all the requirements, like a bar code, expiration date etc. I printed out Walmarts coupon requirements, printed another coupon from Kimberly Clarks web site, went back to Walmart, picked up another roll of towels and was refused again even after showing the cashier and assistant store manager there corporate e-mail. I used to spend about $500.00 a month there. There loss.

That has nothing to do with this coupon, if you had read the other posts, the coupon, if valid can be used anywhere. I just reopened this thead to see if you could print out the coupon.
As for the problems you had with your Walmart, I would of emailed the corporate office, or called them and asked them to contact that particular store to remind them of their coupon policy.

The coupon is also not printing for me.

If the printed coupon you used at Wal-Mart did have all the requirements then they must accept it. If they do not, call customer service and let them know. You could also talk to the district manager and tell them the store manager are not following the coupon policy.
