View Full Version : Cordless Phone Systems

Okay - I need help!! Everyone has great opinions on what works well and doesn't....so I am asking you! We need to get new phones for our home - we have 3 levels, so we are looking at "bundle" systems, so there can be a phone on each level (I have issues running up and down the stairs). The systems from VTech and Uniden all look very comparable to each other but the reviews are all over the board.........any suggestions???? (BTW - we use voip, if that makes any difference)

I have a Panasonic phone system, meaning one phone and others that just need to be plugged in anywhere else in the home, they work great! I am very happy with these, and each phone can have it's own "ring" that can be different than the others, the main phone has a recorder, and every other bell and whistle on it, some of the stuff I never use, like speaker phone, lol anyways I am very satisified with these, and they are made well too!

I have always liked Uniden. I bought a bundle pack not too long ago and love it! This one has 1 base phone and 2 others that just plug into an outlet. We have them all on one side of our house and they work great. You can even use them as room monitors and call from room to room. You can buy bigger bundle packs of these, but don't have the extra handsets to far from the base.

we have UNIDEN and we like them. They have lasted the longest for us.

We have Uniden too.....this one has one base and two plug ins (cord less)....I love it coz its easy to operate.....

Isn't VOIP great? My phone bill is less than $20 a month!

We have a Uniden cordless phone, and we have had it for years! I can't remember exactly when we got it, but I'd say we've had it for at least 10 years. I recently had to replace the battery, but it was no big deal--I just bought one off eBay.

I love VOIP!!! I don't understand why everyone doesn't have it???!!! My bill is $24 every month - even calling international (my girlfriends sister lives in Brazil) doesn't cost a dime!!

Well - I think uniden has the popular vote so far!!

I don't understand it either. Our plan comes with 500 free long distance minutes a month, and we have never gone over. I have family and friends all over the country too! The price also includes call waiting, call forwarding, and caller ID. And, you can look at your account over the Internet immediately. I love being able to look at the list of callers.

Me too!! I also love that I have voice mail - right on the computer. I can access the account and check to see if we missed any calls if we are on vacation - or even out boating!! :)

Ya....Voip is great,but we had Sunrocket for 4 months and now the company has shut down so we had to change our phone service....Now its Pocket8 service.....The only thing about Voip is that we don't have to pay much and you get unlimited local plus long distance calling........

I have a GE Phone and I like it but I think from past experiences UNIDEN and Panasonic are 2 of the best phones. V-Tech is good as well, I dont know if they make them anymore though

Thanks for everyones input!! We did decide on a vtech digital - it was on sale for $80 and all three seem to be working really well! I am sure the uniden and panasonic are better phones - but they were also about $80- $100 more!:eek:

I am just glad I don't have to race up two flights of stairs to answer the phone!!!
