I need help. I have dry patches on my face and my cheeks are so dry they are red.

Can anyone recommend a good moisturizer? I would prefer something natural that I can buy at Whole Foods or something that I can pick up at Walgreens.

I also need a cream and not a lotion. My skin just soaks up the lotion and it does not help at all. I just need something thicker.

Thanks!:D

This is a cheap fix....my mom use to use plain old petroleum jelly, put some on, let it set for about 15 minutes and then wipe off...my mom had the softest skin...she also used Sheshido? I think that is how is it spelled....if they even make it anymore....??

Oh wow petroleum jelly? Maybe I should give it a whirl. And Shiseido is still around too.;)

Thanks Carol!

How about good ol olive oil? Crisco shorting was also recommended to me by a Dr. he said its all natural, has no perfumes or dyes and is cheap!

I use petrolleum jelly on my lips every morning when I am doing my makeup, and I NEVER have chapped lips. I don't know why it wouldn't work for other parts of our face.

My mom had roscea (spelling :o) and used cetiphil which walgreens has a generic of. I love it. It's not very heavy and they are even making it with spf now.

Brandy, have you ever tried MyChelle natural cosmetics? They have some wonderful things for dry skin...I use their honeydew cleanser and their deep renew cream. I have been really pleased with the results. You can get them at WF and you can try a sample pack before buying the larger sizes.

Hey Mel-I have not tried them. I will check them out when I visit Whole Foods. Are they expensive? Thank you! :)

Hey yourself! Some of them are, some are not so bad. The honeydew cleanser is not, the renew cream is normally about $30 but does go on sale sometimes. However, once you get into the serums the price bumps up to about $40-45. At the moment b/c we are on a budget I am using up all my samples and saving for my next jar of cream--but I do think it's worth it so I am looking forward to it!

If you like the products you can also check mychelle.com; they are running sales right now and probably will continue to, due to the current economy!

Did you say I can get samples? I would love to try it first.

You can but you have to buy the sample kit. They have one at WF that usually runs about $12 and another that's more like $19 but each has a broad selection that will help you to see what you like and what works best for your skin.
