I prefer Skecher's myself. I buy them on eBay, and get them for a song! I recently got a brand-new pair for $5 + shipping ($12 total).

Actually I like Champion sneaks. As for regular dress shoes, that's hard for me to choose. I just look for comfort and style and price range.

My 6 year old won't wear anything but k-swiss or nike. I'm a nike fan , and his daddy is a k-swiss fan, I told his father (we're not together), if he wants Gavin to wear k-swiss then buy em', can't afford both. Even though he has 8 pairs of tennis shoe's.

Well my son said that most of the people in his class have Kswiss or Nike

When I was in high school I played basketball...the first year I played with a pair of Nike's and they litterally fell apart on me...the next three...I played with adidas shoes and I still have 2 pair of the 3. They are good as far as sports are concerned.

My oldest son is a shoe freak. You should see his closet, perfectly kept rows. He won't buy Nike anymore because we found the same thing. Nike seems to wear out before the others.

I don't believe it should matter what name is on your feet as long as you bought a comfortable good fitting shoe in a price range you can afford!

LOL...have you ever told that to a fifteen year old? I agree, I could care less what name is on my feet. As long as they match and fit, thats all I care about!

I hear ya...I give him 30 bucks for his shoes about four of five times a year and he knows he has to spend his own money if he wants anything out of the ordinary. Its insane how much some of those name brand athletic shoes cost!!! I could buy my whole family a pair of shoes for what he has spent on one pair.

I completely agree. We've never been into name brands/designer clothing, so it's not something my kids even notice or ask for (thank goodness). I really like Skechers, but if I couldn't buy them on eBay, I wouldn't be buying them! It is completely ridiculous how much some of these items cost.

Dont worry you will all be disapointed...Nike isnt like they used to be...they dont make a quality shoe. Even my fiancee really dont buy Nike anymore...He is a security officer and barely even wears them and they fall apart on him in a few months so you can imagine what a little boy would put a pair through.

I was thinking the same thing that is way too much for a pair of Shoes...I think it is just crazy when parents spend that much on there children...it just spoils them and makes them not value a dollar.

In this post you said you paid $130 dollars for them...and then you said you got them 39.99+20% off that is a BIG difference. Clearly you were lying or confused on how much you paid for them.

Its cool! I was going to say $130 dollars on 1 pair of shoes....you must be a milionaire. No way I would pay that much for shoes. $39 isnt bad for Nike's especially at 20% off! I always buy my shoes on sale...why pay the prices they want for something you wear on your feet???

My son acts like money grows on threes cause he want to get some shoes and it like 200$ or like the nike's $130 and when I tell him no he's all like I wish I had my own money and I told him if u WAS to have you're on money I whould'nt let u spen it all on shoes + not a lot of people see you're shoes and he said I don't care I just like to show off my new shoes whenever my friends come over and I was shocked:eek: and then he said noting else and 2 min. later he wanted to eat it was so funny haha:D

The Nikes must have originally been $130, and were marked down on clearance or something.

Star, my kids are the same way. They want, want, want, and it drives me nuts! Sometimes I have to use my scariest monster mommy voice when I say NO! It's the only way they'll listen!

Next time you want to buy your son some Nikes, I suggest you look on eBay. You can get some really good deals there. I bought my daughter a pair of Skechers there a few months ago and paid around $15 (including shipping) for them. A good thing to do is go try whatever brand you want on in the store, then come home and browse through that size on eBay. We also found a pair of Hush Puppies for my hubby on eBay for less than $20 (including shipping). We saw the style we wanted, then we went to Penney's so that he could try them on. Then we came home and bought them using it Buy it now. It really is the way to go.

Also check at stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx...I get my shoes for really cheap over there...They sell all the name brands there like Nike, New Ballance, Adidas, KSwiss, ect... I got my last shoes from them they were Pink and white New Balances (Very Confortable) for 19.99 on sale. And if you have never been there...their clothes are name brand and really cheap. I bought a pair of Nautica Pajama bottoms for $5 a couple months ago.
