I believe the same, this day is no different than any other day. All we are doing is getting each other candy cause he has to work tomorrow night and I don't see the point in spending a ton of money for someone else to cook me dinner.

Seth only works like 3-11 or something but I will probably cook him dinner. We can't see going out to dinner when we don't have the money and are trying to save for important things.

My DH won't be home either, but it's no big deal. We never really celebrate Valentine's Day anyway. He did send me some nice, comfy pajamas though which is the first ever gift I have gotten from him for Valentine's day. We tend to surprise each other throughout the year...that way it truly is a gift from the heart and shows we are thinking about each other because we want to...not because the calendar tells us to.

My DH also works tomorrow, but he does get home early enough to do something, We are spending quality family time with an aunt who is handicapped, she wants to pay for us to have dinner. we don't normal buy gifts either, but sometimes a surprise is nice.

We aren't doing anything this year. Usually we go out to eat and exchange a gift, this year is just a little tight, my birthday is coming up in a few days, we are going to try to go to the zoo for that (for me cause I have never been there before and for De'shawn cause he loves animals, lol)
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! :D

We dont do anything on valentines day, my husband shows me he loves everyday, sometimes he will come home with a peanut butter cup since they are my favorite or a single rose. so we dont need a day for him to show his love, I know i have it. But we buy candy for the kids and today Chicago brought home from school this little pink and white puppydog that he bought with his (buxx bucks) they get them for being good in school to buy themselfs something. but he bought the little dog for me I cried and cried it was so sweet of him to think of mommy, he could of bought him something he wanted. So tomorrow I am takeing him to get pizza. He loves piggs so I bought him a little pink piggy from hallmark and it came with a cerficate and website where he can name his on star and have it print with the cerficate and in the books. So i really hopes he likes it.

Aw that's so sweet. I can see why you would be proud of them. I have noticed from doing such things for my Mom in the past that those little gestures are the best way to show a parent you love and appreciate them.

Picked up a loft bed for my grandson and went to their house for the day.
We all went out for Mexican food. My son and DIL went to casino for dinner and some time together while grandpa and I babysat.
Make fried chicken and fries for dinner........blueberries and strawberries for dessert.......(Benjamin loves fruit)..........gave Benjamin a bath, read him a story and sang him a lullaby.
Best part of my day..........well, the whole day but when Benjamin looked up at me..........and said, "I love you, Grandma!"
What a perfect Valentine!

This year, for Valentine's Day, we didn't do anything. My husband likes "breakfast" which I do not care for and we went to Frying Pan, a general restaurant which is open 24 hrs a day and serves everything from breakfast to dinner. He suggested we go out to Murdos, a steak house, for supper.
I said that was fine with me. Then later, when I mentioned we'd only have a light lunch since we had a big breakfast and would have a big supper, he stated that Murdos would be too busy and we'd just go out, another time. So much for that Idea.
In the past, we've given each other gifts such as candy or flowers. For several years, he gave me a VAlentine Bear with the year embroidered on the foot.
The bears came from Walmart and they still have them every year. I finally told him that while I enjoyed the bears, I was running out of room for them.
For the most part Valentine's Day is just another day, though did get cards from our one daughter and my husband's step mother. The neighbors, next door, brought over a Valentine balloon and a box of candy.
