Pray for my quick recovery

As most of you know, I have yet another mouth surgery on Friday. I just wanted to ask that everyone please pray for a quick recovery and that this is the last one. This is my 5th since I moved home just over 2 years ago.

They are doing another tissue transplant and removing the screw in my mouth. I know I will be on a liquid diet for at least 3 weeks, maybe longer. My mouth has started hurting more than normal so I am ready for this surgery, but I am so sick of having them. I have finally had some bone growth after the last surgery, so hopefully thing can be my last one. I start all my meds tonight and will be having it at 8:30 Friday morning. I should be down basically all day Friday and most the day Saturday. I won't be back at my house until probably Saturday.

I just really want to be done with these. My body never seems to have enough time to relax and heal before I am having another. Also I am ready for my mouth to be looking good so I know that I won't have a big hole in my mouth anymore. People have bashed my mouth before, and honestly I don't care, that just shows they have no good in themselves if they try to talk bad about people's appearance that they can't help. So if you want to make fun, then that is fine cause those people aren't worth my time. I know most of you on here and you are all amazing people and I know you will keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I just really need those right now as I can't take anymore time out of my life to do these surgeries.

I think the people that "bash" you have nothing in their life, and I truly believe the Lord above will punish them for bashing you. Those type of people are truly miserable. Thanks everyone! I am going into this surgery with a postive mindset that it will be the last one. Only one more day to get though before it will be started and over with.

Also thanks for the stuff about the rude people. I have been dealing with those people since I was 8 and this happened. It is crazy how people can make fun or down you for something that happened. I truely don't understand it. Even people who I thought were my friends have done it and it is hard to take that sometimes. People I have known my whole life I lost because they thought it was funny to call me names.:rolleyes: The people that love me and care for me truely understand and they don't think it is a problem. They always are by my side through everything!

I went to a school today for a project I have to do, and I am working with my Kindergarten teacher. Well I blacked out in front of her. I was so embarrased. I can't believe that happened. It hasn't happened in a few months. I need to make sure I take better care of myself the next day and a half so that doesn't happen after surgery.:eek:

That is a great way to get them back. People just love to down others on their image because they are not happy with theirs. If someone is completely happy with their image then they accept everyone for the way they are.

Yes it is worse than Listerine, much worse. It is supposed to be mint, but it has thing nasty after taste.

Carol, nice idea, but that might not pass my doctor:p Tomorrow I can't eat past 10 and I have to do this rinse 3 times a day and after every meal. It helps to get any bacteria out of my mouth so that I am not prone to infection once they open me up for surgery (even though it has been open since my last surgery in June) and doesn't get infected after before it closes up. I can drink water to help it a little, but still has a little taste. Sucks I can't drink barely anything after 10 tomorrow too.:eek:

Any suggestions on what I should eat for my last solid food dinner?! I had pizza tonight, steak last night, hot dogs and burgers over the weekend, and wings Monday. I am thinking maybe pasta and salad or something.:rolleyes::confused:

I can only imagine how it must taste, but it's for a good reason. It will be over soon, thankfully you don't have to use this for a week, :eek:

I would eat whatever I loved for that last meal, even if that means cupcakes. lol the thing is, enjoy whatever it may be, and then Friday it will be all over and done with and you will be on the road to recovery, and, we will be waiting to hear from you. HUGS!!

Ya it is definitely not fun at all. You have to use like 10 pillows, some under you and some on each side, to keep yourself from moving and laying down in the middle of the night. I normally just sleep on the couch cause for some reason after surgeries, Seth gets this wild hair and throws his arms towards my face while he is sleeping. Last time he got me pretty good, I started bleeding and crying. I had to take 2 pain pills just to get back to sleep. It was horrible.

Guess I better go get some sleep. Only tonight and tomorrow night before I get bad sleep. And I have to wake up at 6:30 the morning of my surgery:(

Thanks everyone. I got my Cracker Barrel and it was yummy. i still ahve a corn bread left, so i should probably eat that before i go to be.d

I am on my sedation meds, so excuse my spelling mistkaes. gosh this stuff makes it hard. plus the screen is rather blurred.

I explained it to Seth, after i take my pill i have about 10 minutes before it really hits. when i walk i am walking all over the place and bumping into stuff. my sight is almost like when you are extremely tired and it is a little blurry and you have someehat tunnel vision. Not to mention the dang hickups i have had all day. blah

my art teacher told us today we have a test tuesday so i went to tell her i probably wont make it as i had surgery tomorrow morning and didnt know if i could kae it to take a test on pain killers. she told me in a odd voice "oh you will be", so i figured she meant i could make it up. then she says "just take double of your pain killers and come" HELLOOO for one how can i drive myself to class on double my pain killers, and two how can a take a test on pain killers:confused::mad::rolleyes: she finnaly agreed to let me take it late!!

But ladies I am off to bed after I eat my piece of corn bread. It does take me about 10 minutes just to do all the litte things they tell me to do before bed/.

Everyone keep their fingers crossed and say little prayers for me. The surgery is at 8:30am Central time. I will have someone update you while I am down:D

Thanks. The good news is that I don't have a lot of pain this time. The only reason I have pain is from all the swelling. Thankfully this time I don't have black eyes. I know that all I can do it get better and not be too upset about the bad news, but I feel like I have been through so much to have the bad news. I know God is besides me and he does everything for a reason. I know I am stronger from this and it will all work out in the end. Thanks again for the prayers, atleast everything will be completely over soon and this will be my last surgery.

Oh and I talked to my doctor. We had a little scare cause my top lip keeps going numb. He said I should be ok as long as it doesn't continue much longer. He said he will check on it at my post checkup on Monday. Hopefully he will take this stitches out so I stop going crazy!

Well it was not food, it is transplanted tissue or bone that is now showing, so when I tried to get it out it started bleeding pretty bad. I was on my way to my night class so I had to lay down in class cause my pain meds made me tired (teacher is letting me make up my test next week cause she agreed that taking a test on pain meds was not a good idea). Well long story short, I had to get up to get something and fell over from my meds making me light headed. I am still hurting this morning, so I am taking more pain meds and hopefully today will be the last day I need them.

Doctor said stitches have to stay for at least 2 more weeks.:rolleyes: They told me how I am not supposed to use whitening tooth paste cause it kills the donor tissue, well this was my 5th surgery in 2 years and they have NEVER told me that. Also they told me how I am not supposed to use my prescription mouth wash in my whole mouth, just on the surgery area cause it stains your teeth gray. They never told me that either, they just always said it was bad for your teeth but never said why. I had to sit in the room for 25 minutes for my doctor to come in, look at my mouth for 3 minutes and say I need to come back in 2 weeks. Needless to say I was really ticked after leaving there!:mad:

Thanks for the prayers. I went to the doc and didn't get good news (yet again). I am having to go to another doctor for more tests but it seems like something pretty serious. Also on the way home, my car broke down for the 2nd time this week. Had to spend the last bit of money I had to get the parts to fix it and Seth is outside trying to fix it now. Hopefully he can.:(

I got my results from the tests I took yesterday. Didn't get good news but it is treatable. I am going back on Monday to get a referral to another doctor. Hopefully things will start looking up again soon. It is a really hard time for Seth and I but I know we will make it through and be that much stronger.

Not to be nosy but can I ask you what happen? If you are not comfortable telling me, that's fine. Anyway, I know what you mean by rude people. Almost 6 years ago I got hit in the head with a steel beam. I have a brain injury now. To look at me you can't tell but when I am in public around noise and lights it effects me. I have seizures now too. People stare at me because if I am with someone at the store and they walk away from me and I can't find them I panic and start spinning around in circles more or less and act "weird". When I'm at the grocery store and want to buy a can of corn and there are 7 or 8 different kinds of corn I can't decide what one I want so I start doing this thing with my hand on my face. People say stuff or laugh at me. It's hard. I'm afraid to go anywhere by myself. (They took my driver's license because of my seizures) I use to be very independent. In fact, my dad and mom use to get mad because they said I needed to know when to ask for help because I never would. Now, I can't do anything without help. I'm having a hard time dealing with it. It's caused me a great deal of depression. Sorry to ramble on.

I had a softball accident when I was 8. I was pitching and the batter hit the ball and hit me in the mouth. I have had numerous surgeries to try and fix everything and nothing has worked. My body rejects all the donor bone. Sorry to hear about what happened to you. As far as others go, I know it is hard to ignore them but try and make light of the situation. When people make fun of me or say something rude about it I just think how they are not happy with themselves and have to find the negative in me to make themselves feel better. It is also very hard when people laugh at you but just think, it will come back on them one day. Having people to help you is always a plus, but like you said you don't want to. Sometimes you must go through a lot and realize that they are there for you the right way, not to make you feel worse. I know it is extremely hard but it all makes you stronger and one day you will figure out how to manage everything and not let others get to you. Just take it all as lessons you are learning!! That is the way I have to think about it.:o
