I really want a Nintendo DS, but I would like some feedback first.
Anyone have any positives/negatives?

My DD absolutely LOVES her Nintendo DS. She plays it all the time. I have played the "brainy" games too. Love it! :D
Although it is a little expensive, and the games cost about as much as a full size system, it is wonderful to be able to port this around. You do have to be sure it's charged but can play it "plugged" in if need be.
You can connect with other people if wi-fi is available, and can "share" things with friends as you acquire them if you want to "catch up" to where they are at in a game.

Thanks for the info! I really want the pink one. I looked at Wal-Mart and it looks like it would cost me around $200 for the system, Super Mario and the carrying case. I think you just sealed the deal for me.;)

Yes, they have just about every game imaginable. Of course it won't be the same as a large size game because you're using a stylist stick and not a real controller. You can also buy Gameboy Advance Games (if you have a DS lite) and not all games are interchangeable, so you have to look at the box and be sure it says Nintendo DS compatible.

Tell DD thank you!:p
I looked in amazon.com and I noticed you can buy used games a lot cheaper than new games.
Heard anything good or bad about buying used games?

We have not ever bought them off the Internet, so I can't speak to that. But we do buy them from Game Crazy Store which is a offshoot of Hollywood Video Stores. It is nice to be able to go in and actually play the game for about 5 minutes to see if you like it or not and they do have a return policy, but I'm not sure exactly how long it is.

My DD said she got hung up on world 3 & 7 and was just persistent but if you can't figure it out there is a game "cheat" system called Action Replay. You put the Action Replay into the DS and then the game clicks into the Action Replay slot. It costs about $20. But she said it is well worth it. If you have questions just ask. This can be used on many different games not just Mario Bros.

I am addicted to a word play on my Nintendo DS. It's on a game of my daughter's. She wants the game back; I want to continue to play it. I'm winning!!! :p

I bought a DS Lite with part of last year's tax refund. I've been collecting games eversince. It lives in my tote bag, and is a great time waster for my lunch break if I get tired of reading or just want to tune out for awhile. I have Touch Master (not getting Touch Master 2, too many bad reviews), Zensense Rainforest (relaxing), Snood 2 On Vacation, Word Jhong, NY Times Crosswords, CrossworDS (mostly for the anagrams & word searches), and a few more that I can't think of at the moment.

I LOVE my DS and use it every night when I'm trying to get to sleep, well, when I'm trying to unwind from the day. My husband originally bought us each one when I was in the hospital on bedrest for four months in 2006. We could play games together from across the room. :) Very sweet of him.
I love playing the brain games, Professor Layton (brainy puzzles), Cake Mania 1 and 2, etc.
It holds a charge really well, you can use headphones so no one else is bothered by the sounds, it is compact, and they have some really great games! :)

i honestly really like my nintendo ds. it has long battery power, there is more of a variety of games out there for it than when it first came out. There is alot of accesrioses that you can get for it, games are alot less money than for other gaming systems. It is very brite you can play in the pitch dark and see it clear as day.
