There have been many products added to the Castleberry recall list that may contain botulism, including Natural Balance dog food. Also, store name brands have been added. Please follow this link.

Its really sad to see how many items are recalled. They have an entire bulliten board at walmart and its full.I also saw on the news last week about this place in china that makes some kind of meat filling /stuffing. I wasn't sure what it was but.. They were grinding cardboard along with the meat so they would use less meat. It was being shipped to the U.S. How scary stuff like this is.!!

It's very scary! I'm really leery about ANYTHING that comes from China. I just tossed a big bottle of Juicy Juice apple juice a couple of weeks ago because I saw on the bottle that it came from China.

It's funny, I swear I had my First chili hot dog on Sunday and I used castleberry. Hubby and I are fine! He is worring his head off. I guess I will always remember my first Chili Dog!!!!! These cans were old. Not passed date, but we purchased them 2 years ago. I think that we are ok. I am not worried.

I live just south of Augusta and drive by the Castleberry plant all the time. My hubby said they used to sell some of their products right from the plant...kind of like a little discount shop...Not sure if they still do that, but I doubt I'll be buying anything from them for awhile anyway!

You just never know. These are totally respected and well-known companies who have recalls. They aren't some small-town factories. They have strict safety codes. But it's happening anyway. I just don't know who or what to trust anymore when it comes to the things we consume.
