My oldest friend is the first guy I ever dated. His name is Dave and we met when we were 14-years-old. On our first date, we went and saw Grease. :) We don't get to see each other very often anymore (it's been two years since the last time), but we do a pretty good job of staying in touch (He lives in CA). In fact, I got an e-mail from him just today. I love and adore him, and I'm willing to bet that we'll be friends forever.
Cyndie and I met when she was 20 and I was 22. Our friendship survived her divorce from my brother, so we'll be friends forever too.
I had a friend that I used to work with, and she kept in touch with me after I moved away from Oklahoma. We were regular penpals the entire 7 years, and I'd visit her when I'd make trips back to Oklahoma. However, when I moved back here, she distanced herself from me and I have no idea why. I'd try to make plans with her, but I could never pin her down. She still occasionally e-mails me, but I have pretty much given up on the friendship. Sadly, she only lives about three miles away from me. There's nothing I can do if she won't do her part to uphold the friendship though.
My oldest Internet friend is a man in CA named Carl. We met at a message board in 2000 and have been friends ever since. He lives in Napa. We talk about meeting, but it hasn't happened yet. I wish he lived in Southern CA or closer to Cyndie and my brother. That'd make a meeting a whole lot easier! When I met him, he was single. Now, he has a wife and two kids.
I also have Tracy. We met in December 2001 and the friendship is still going strong. She'll probably end up being a lifetime friend as well.

Late last year I got a call from a childhood friend about a luncheon that was being held for girls (women) we went to elementary school with. It has now been 50 years since I graduated HIGH school and these were friends from elementary school through high scool. I attended and there were 13-14 women there, some I had not seen in 30+ years! What a blast. We were in a restaurant and the waiter actually asked us if we could be a little quieter because we were bothering the other customers! Well, I guess we haven't changed much since elementary school, everyone was talking and laughing at once. We will do this again this year!

When we moved to Calif I was just 12, but I made friends with a girl named Diane right off the bat. We are still friends, sadly, she is dying of brain cancer.
I am also friends with her ex. husband, we both met him when he was just 17, Diane was just 14 and me just 15. We sure had some great times when we were kids.
I have a bunch of ladies that I use to work with, we still talk via email or phone....so I have known them for over 20 years....
And finally, lots of friends since marrying my Dh, friends that Dh went to school with.

I have a friend, Linda, that has always been there for me through every thing I have been through. She is the most thoughtful, loving person. She and I have been friends for about 34 years. I knew her before 8th grade, but that is when we really became close friends. We were in each others weddings, there for the births of each others children, and I know I can always count on her if there is anything I need. It was extremely hard for me last May to see her and her family in so much pain. She lost her daughter in law in a car accident. They were extremely close. God was looking over her son that night, he was spared. She is such a wonderful human being, and I am proud to be able to call her my friend. :):D

I am still somewhat in contact with Tommy, one of my dearest friends. I have known him since Story Hour, when we were 3. His mom and my mom were and still are very close friends. I talk with some people I went to school with through Facebook. I lived in a small town and we knew each other forever.....
Tommy gave me the highest compliment a 9 year old boy could ever give a 9 year old gir..."She is not a girl, mom, she is just a Roxanne!" This was back in the days when 9 year old girls were carriers of *cooties*! :D
He is married and has 2 little girls. His younger daughter is named Roksana and they call her Roxy for short.....he used to call me Roxy.
We have a very solemn pact, made at the age of 7. We decided that, if, when we are both 80 and have no one, we will marry each other so we will not grow old alone....
