This is an alternative to the birth control pill, it is not medicine!
This is what you will receive...

You will receive three(3) individually sealed VCF films (3 tries) via the mail in one discreet envelope.

The last time I used VCF, I got pregnant!

I've had an IUD for about a year now, and it is great! No fuss, no worries, no hormones. I highly recommend it!

Years ago when IUD's were pretty new, I had one placed after my daughter was born, and the doctor highly recommended it, that was the Dalkon Shield which was recalled years later because of deaths and other problems, I received a hefty payoff from that many years later because it became inbedded in me and a pregnancy which had to be terminated, it was a mess. I know that they have come along way since then, but be sure to have them checked every so often by the doc to be sure everything is ok.

Carol, that is terrible! I am so sorry that happened to you. :(

Before I got the IUD, I did a LOT of research, and like you said, they have come a long way. There are risks, of course. But, there are always risks when you use birth control. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to get one. I do have to have it checked annually to make sure everything is okay. Nowadays, the IUD is actually the birth control of choice for female gynecologists. The gynecologist who inserted mine even has one!

Had a hyst*****omy..that was the best birth control ever....lol....before that I tried many of the things you are talking about and had lots of problems. Definately check things out before using them, there are always downfalls to something new.

This was along time ago, it was late 1973 when I had that IUD put in. The class action suit did not happen until the 80's and settlement did not happen until the early 90's took 20+ years in all to get it done. It was very long and drawn out with me getting 3 payouts until the money and all claims were done, with the final payout if I remember correctly in 1998.

I don't recall if it hurt or not, it is placed in the cervix if I remember correctly?? and it only takes a few minutes to get it done as I recall.

I liked this VCF inbetween babies. I had the copper IUD and got pregnant with it 2.5 years after I had it put in. I loved it though!

I used the Depo shot for about a year and a half after my son was born, and I gained a tremendous amount of weight. I don't know if it was the shot's fault or not, but at the time, I simply didn't care if I gained weight or not. In addition, my s e x drive was nonexistent!

It did hurt for a bit when the IUD was inserted--it's a pinching sensation. But, it was only for a little bit. Hurts much less than having a baby, that's for sure! LOL!

celticmama, you've put fear in my heart! At this point in my life, I really don't want to have any more babies! The IUD is supposed to be one of the most effective reversible methods of birth control, but I guess nothing is 100%.

I love my IUD!! I had one put in a little over 3 years ago and it's been great. It has been a godsend for me since I can't take any form of the pill and I don't like the idea of a shot..at least I could remove the IUD if I had a problem. I haven't even had a period since I got it except for right after having an ovarian cyst and part of an ovary removed (not caused by the IUD). The IUD I have has to be removed after 5 years but you can get another one put right back in and I've never even noticed it's there!!

I was on the depo shot for about 3 years and loved it. Never had a period or cramps. The Dr I was going to took me off of them because of research studies showing that anyone on the shot for 2 years or longer had higher risk for osteoporosis. I had a bone density test and everything was fine, but they took me off of them anyway. It was fantastic though, and I really wish they would work on getting it improved. Btw, first time posting on here, and I just have to say, THIS SITE AND ALL IT'S FREEBIES ROCK!!!

I've had a hystere ctomy, too but, I'm rather concerned about the new forms of birth control where there is little or no period. Isn't that the bodies way of cleaning house, so to speak? Wouldn't it be bad on a person for that not to happen regularly. It's like being blocked up for year after year. I just don't know how that could be good on a person.

You body naturally cleans itself 24 hours a day. Naturally, the uterus builds up its blood supply and thickens during the month hoping to become the home for a fertilized egg. When this does not happen, it sheds the thickened lining (a period) and returns to normal before beginning the process all over again. I have Mirena IUD. I do not have a period. This may be controversial but if I have an egg to get fertilized, when it falls into the uterus there is no where for it to attach so it is excreted from the body without your knowledge. I thought about this for a bit before I got this. Some believe it to not be viable unless attaches in the uterus. I try not to think about it. But Mirena acts on 3 different principals....first the one I described, second the mucus in the cervix is thickened to hopefully prevent sperm from getting through to egg. And the third is to hopefully prevent an egg from being released. Anyway, I know , I can shut up now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's good info! Thanks! Look, though, your egg is your egg. Everyone here has their own beliefs and such. Your method of birth control or your vote for president isn't going to make anyone here like you or any one else any less! We're all just full of love and good thoughts, dontcha know?? :D :o :) ;)

IUD's are actually placed through the cervix and into the uterus. They do cause some discomfort for alot of people during insertion (cramping). If you have uncomfortable cycles IUD's probably aren't for you cause they can make someone who has uncomfortable periods more uncomfortable. If you do not have painful periods and are in a steady relationship they are a great form of contraception. Talk to an OB/GYN or go to the most popular IUD websites (mirena-us.com or paraguard.com) if you are thinking of one.

I'm an OB nurse.....
