I belong to a mystery reader's club. Unlike most book clubs, we do not select a specific book to read each month, though we have done this every so often (about once a year). We've had a variety of programs, ranging from the simple: a discussion about books and authors we've read, to having speakers from the police department, a private investigator, a man who trains bloodhounds for tracking work etc. We've been fortunate to have gotten some authors to speak at our meetings, we have an annual English Tea, we have a Christmas party with a book exchange.
After 17 yrs, we're running out of new ideas and would welcome any suggestions from those of you who belong to common interest groups.
The majority of our members are women in the 40-80 plus range. We've had some younger members (in their 20's and 30's) but don't have any at this particular time though our group is always open to new members.
If you have any questions or ideas, you can e-mail me privately or respond to this thread.
