I am looking for hats and possibly a scarf. Does anyone know where you can find them at a reasonable price. I have looked online they are just so expensive. I really don't want to spend too much, I am not sure if I will wear them or not. Also, they need to be big enough to cover to the hairline. I am losing hair fast. I am just about ready to shave what I have left off! :p :)

If you have troubles finding some, just let me know, I will look around here! lots of hats in this area......it might not be cold enough where you live!
My Aunt got a few wigs, and you could not even tell it was not here hair at all!!!

Thank you Becky! That is so kind of you. It does get cold here, I just haven't been able to find any to cover all the way. Where hair would normally be. LOL They all seem like they are kind of short, at least the cute ones. Most of them are winter ones, like crocheted. I would like something a little different. Not really sure what I am looking for, just something upbeat. Even funny. It might just make someone's day if I went to chemo in a silly hat. :p That place is so dull and dreary. Most of the people are a bit older than me (I am by no means young, I am 47) and they just seem so depressed. And scarves, like the silk or rayon or whatever are non existant around here. I guess that is what you get when you live in a small town. I am also going to look into wigs tomorrow. Hopefully before chemo. Thank you again! :)

When my niece was taking chemo and losing her hair, I went to the offices of the American Cancer Society and they gave me several scarfs for her. They have a group of people who make these and donate them to be given to chemo patients. You might want to check that out. Best wishes.

Thank you! I have done that, and it is a fantastic program. They help you so much with the makeup and scarves/wigs. At the time I did this program, I wasn't losing my hair, but they give you hand outs to help you learn to tie the scarves. And all the (free) makeup that you get is wonderful! It was also lots of fun, just being around others that have the same problems that you do. We were told that it was between 300-400 dollars worth of make up. There were so many different companies that had donated the products. They are truly wonderful people that put this program on. And I can't say enough how great the cosmetics companies are for their donations. If any of you need it, you should definitely give it a try. But honestly......I hope none of you ever do! :)

Good deal:D . I hope that you feel better very soon. I'm very pale by nature... I just don't tan. In high school there was this one person who told me that if I had white or very pale blond hair I'd be an albino:eek: . But I am literaly that pale, with freckles. I even tried a tanning bed for my prom, no luck just burnt skin after 5 minutes. I went back and tried that about 5 times, not even a base tan. Stupid teenage ideas. I should have went as a lobster that year.:D
