I remember slumber parties. We use to watch TV and eat (lol) back then but now there is so much to do.
How about a treasure hunt for items in your house? Games, they could do makeup on each other....hide and seek...here is a site with other ideas.

One thing my daughter suggested is taking a photo of all the girls lying on the floor in a circle with their heads in the center. Then print off as many photos as there are girls. Let the girls decorate inexpensive wood frames with markers, stickers, paint, foam letters, ect. Then each girl gets to take home a souvenir of the special night. Watch movies, play easy competitive games (bean bag toss) ect.,to win "prizes" just be sure each girl wins at least once. Play beauty parlor, nails ect. Have Fun! :)

Well I got the girls to bed at 1 a.m.!!!! then they were up at 9! they had so much fun! there was 17 kids here and 11 spent the night. we did make overs and they loved that! they played chubby bunny!!! that is so funny! you put a marshmallow in and say chubby bunny and can't eat it, you put in one more and so on and so on! so they all had this big old mouth full of marsh mallow and were trying to say chubby bunny!!!! they watched a movie.....and just ran and played all evening! they went outside for a hide and seek game at dark. My daughter was so happy with her party! it turned out well for her! thanks for all the cool ideas from you guys!!

I am glad to hear your daughter had a great birthday. It seems like you put a lot of thought into making it the best party possible. Starting at about age 11 or so I basically controlled my own birthday parties. My Mom would buy us a bunch of food, and we we would rent some movies but in the end us girls just ended up gossiping and giggling all night long... Oh the joys of being little!

Becky, I'm glad everything worked out so well. As long as your daughter is happy; that is the important part. :)

Yeah, I have two sisters and one brother who also happens to be the oldest. My Mom says she would always preferred having a boy sleep over to the girls sleepover. Especially as girls get older because they are so catty and argue.
Anyway, I say go for it! I watched my brother have sleepover when I was younger and they maybe not quite as fun as girls sleepover but they are definitely much easier.
