My daughter got one of these for Christmas. I registered for the recall back in February. I got a retrofit kit in June. It is just a little plastic piece that fits over the opening of the oven with a warning lable that says not to stick your hand inside. They also sent two packs of mixes with the kit.
Since it took months to get the kit, I had emailed and called Hasbro a few times to find out what was taking so long. Somehow, by calling my name got into their system multiple times. So far, I have received 3 retrofit kits with mixes!:o

I had no idea about the recall. My daughter also recieved one for Christmas and we use it quite a bit. We never had a problem with it. Thanks for the info.

we also have one and I can see how a small child could get there hand stuck.my daughter uses hers with adult supervision at all times. Of course thats easy for me to say I only have one child at home.

Despite receiving a retrofit kit I got a letter from Hasbro that says:
"We are sending you a box with a prepaid mailing label for your use in returning the Easy-Bake Oven to us. Upon receipt, you will receive a $32.00 voucher for use on hasbrotoyshop.com."
I am not sure if I am going to send mine back. My kids love it and I never let them use it without my supervision.
This is for model number 65805 only.

I got a mailer with a prepostage paid box to send my oven back in the mail last week. I have decided not to send my oven back. My two kids love using it, and they never use it without supervision. I would consider sending it back if there was another oven to replace it, but there is not a new model yet.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sick and tired of all these toy recalls. I would be willing to pay more for toys that I knew were safe. I wish the toy makers would bring production back to the USA where laws are in place to protect consumers and quality control is better. Not to mention giving jobs to Americans.
The Easy Bake Oven was a Christmas gift from Santa. It is one of six Christmas gifts that my children got that have been recalled. How do you explain to a child that Santa made an unsafe toy?! I have just had it!

I feel your pain...It felt bad to go shopping for my sons first birthday! I didnt know what was safe and what was not. There are hardly any toys made in the US, they were all made in China...I am soooo sick of these stupid recalls I could just puke! When is it going to be enough with these companys?
I wish they would bring back the jobs over here. There is so many people that have lost their jobs because they were shipped over seas. It only makes sence!
