Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I was wondering if you got anything special this year. I got the usual...a lot of clothes, but my daughter got me a gift that was touching.

Last summer we were all outside. The kids were riding bikes and I was sitting in the garage reading a book. My daughter ran into the garage and kicked over my glass of diet coke. The glass shattered on the floor (I never should have put it there to begin with) and my daughter felt terrible. She knew that it was my favorite glass and that I had gotten it from a restaurant that her dad and I had eaten at when we were dating.

I guess she never forgot about it because on Christmas morning her present to me was a set of four glasses that were shaped exactly the same as the one she broke. My hubby said they went to store after store looking for just the right glass. My daughter was not willing to settle until she found just the right set to replace the one she broke. I had truely forgot all about that glass, but I am touched that Caroline remembered. When my hubby told me the story I cried.

The kids were excited to get a Wii and a few games for it. The other gift they really are enjoying is PixOs.

So what did Santa bring you?

me and my husband did not exchange gifts this year, we just bought a little for the kids. I kinda broke the agreement we had on not to get each other anything, I had some old rings I never wore and some other stuff and traded those for a 30/30 rifle for my husband. he was shocked and gave me the lecture that we werent suppose to buy for each other. I told him I did not spend a dime on it, ( which was the truth I gave no money for it) just traded. So it was a pretty good day. Family is comeing over tommorrow.

It was just me and Dh yesterday, we didn't exchange gifts, we have most everything anyways and being broke doesn't help. Next year I will finally get my SS and we have promised each other the first thing we are going to do as a big treat is buy some Australian Lobster Tails at our favorite fish store in Glendale, Ca. and buy some Kippers from an English Store in Burbank, Ca.
My DH makes the very best BBQ'ed Lobster you have ever tasted.

I made a wonderful Prime Rib dinner and shared it with the little 91 year old neighbor who is snow bound. He was so happy to eat home cooked food instead of TV dinners.

son and DIL bought us a spanking new microwave........love it.
got a calendar w/tons of photos of the grandkids.....
sheepskin slippers.........warm and cozy.
Tons and tons of candy which I really don't need!
Candles, body lotion,etc...........money....$$.....which is always a nice gift!!

It was a wonderful Christmas as family came on Christmas eve to avoid more snow up north so I had lots more time w/the grandkids.
Dinner was abundant w/24 lb turkey,stuffing,5 lb prime rib, mash potatoes, sweet potato casserole, peas, corn casserole, shrimp, rolls and DIL made her famous chocolate pecan pie plus a pumpkin pie. There was only 7 adults and two little ones there so plenty of leftovers for everyone to take home.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas!!:)

That was so good of you, Carol. You are such a good person!

I got a Coach purse (from my sister), a couple of books, a giant box of Dove chocolates that I took back cause I don't need it! A Bath & Body Works gift card, and a lot of cash from various wonderful family members; something I was especially grateful for.

I cooked for two days, but it was worth it. Our Christmas dinner was so good!

I recieved cute earrings an X and O, lots of clothes, leather driving gloves, Willow Tree (three wise men), gift cards.

I was very touched when my daughter gave me a bracelet that had been my grandmothers and said I could have this for a while. Grandma Alice has always been her guardian angel.

My husband planned out a very elaborate Treasure Hunt for my daughter and myself, he had been planning it for months, it involved a story he had written, Morse code, Latin translation, and page decoding, in the end we had to dig up a treasure chest from the garden. It was -6 degrees yesterday and the ground was frozen solid. He had to use an icepick to dig it up. LOL:p When we finally opened the box, which he made himself, it was filled with golden dollar coins. We were shocked to say the least. It was indeed a very wonderful adventure.

I know this sounds rather strange, but DH got me a small battery/rechargeable drill. I am always doing things around the house and could not use the regular drill because it is too heavy. My son gave me a tool box two or three years ago (portable container with screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, level, etc) and I LOVE it. I dare them to use my tools and not return them. The drill is a perfect addition to the tool box. Son got me a small flat screen TV to use in the kitchen. My old kitchen TV is really OLD and this is a great improvement. Got some other small stuff. It was a great Christmas. Family coming tomorrow for our annual Christmas dinner. No present exchanges, just dinner. We are hosting and looking forward to it.

From my hubby a got a new robe and earrings!
I think he felt kind of bad after he opened his gift since I spent so much money on his gift. I got him the special edition Stargate SG-1 box set. But at least I got a really good deal on it! I saved about $200 by going through amazon.com!

My MIL got me the Stay or Go crockpot I've been wanting ever since it came out!:D

My DH bought me a digital picture frame, which was sweet, and quite unexpected! :)

Our DS bought me a battery operated pepper mill. :D

My in-laws bought us an Edenpure heater (as a family gift) to help heat the front room a bit better.

More importantly than the gifts... all of my immediate family got together for a wonderful Christmas Eve meal and all of DH immediate family were together for Christmas Day! God is so great! :)

My dh and I weren't exchanging gifts, but he came home with a food processor. :D Apparently my 2 year old son said mommy needed it. My dh thinks I'm so funny. He says I'm the only wife in the world that gets giddy over a kitchen appliance....maybe I'll get a pepper mill for our aniversary tomorrow.:D

We owned an Edenpure heater. It made our electric bill go sky high so we sold it.

I didn't get anything tangible for Christmas...but ya know what?? It didn't really matter to me. I prayed for peace of mind for Christmas, and I got that. It has been such a blessing just to feel like everything will be ok somehow.

Becky did you get a princess phone? I had one years ago. My dad worked for a phone company out here and he use to bring home all sorts of phones. I knew how to wire them, cause they were all hard wired back then, I had phones in just about every color that was out at the time.

My boyfriend bought me a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. I had been saying how much I really wanted a pair and he surprised me with them on Christmas. Of course, I had to search within the tree for the box because he never wants to make anything simple!!

My sister bought me a beautiful necklace, adorable pair of panties and the cutest little coin purse all from England! I received many wonderful gifts for Christmas but the biggest joy was that my family and I were able to celebrate together and it was very unclear up until that day if we would be able to due to the snow. It was such a blessing to spend Christmas with the people I love the most.

I am glad to read that everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
