Does anybody have any ideas for wedding favors? My daughter is getting married in the fall. Her colors are emerald and ivory with gold accents. We'll have around 150 guests.

I'm getting married in August. I did a lot of research on favors myself and found them to be a waste of money. I decided to donate the money that I would have spent on favors to a charitable organization. I am making up little paper tents explaining what we did and placing them at each table. If you want to know the wording we used just let me know.

When my husband and I got married, we gave bookmarks with a beautiful poem, our names and date. We also had a wallet sized engagement photo that they could take if they wanted to. Everyone really liked both.

When my brother-in-law got married, they gave out CD's of the music played at the wedding. They just burned copies themselves and did labels on the computer. It was really great! Very reasonable in cost too. The CD's you can get at Sams Club, or any wholesale club and you can get the jewel cases to put them in there too. I thought this was really a neat idea.

Something I would have done had they been around when I got married is a new kind of bookmark. It is biodegradable paper infused with Forget-me-nots Flower seeds. If they don't want to use it as a bookmark (comes wrapped in a clear plastic), they can plant the ENTIRE bookmark in a pot and have an ever lasting momento from the special day. I LOVE this one!

Hope this gives you some ideas!

BTW, the flower seeded bookmark I received through my Earth Share campaign as a BzzAgent. I am sure that if you contact EarthShare.com, they would be more than happy to accomodate you!

I have made many purchases with this company. If you are a teacher, kids shop, holding a whatever event they can cover it. They are a great company to deal with!

I got married last July and what we decided to use as favors were picture frames. I wanted to put a thank you sort of note in there, but my husband had an even better idea. He printed out our engagement picture (on regular paper) and we had the wording of "thank you for sharing our special day with us" at the top (and in hot pink- my color). Under the picture part we had our names and wedding date printed in black (my other color). We liked this idea because the frame is usuable for the guest- they just take our picture out and put in one of their own. It also was nice to express our happiness that they could join us for the wonderful occasion. With the colors you described, you could use a gold frame and use emerald green wording. If you wanted to fancy it up a bit and include the ivory color, you could tie an ivory ribbon around the frame. [My husband is a printer, so this was easy for him, but as long as you know someone who is good with this sort of thing, it really isn't all that expensive].
