Why not save more on gas..yes the prices have fallen but the economy is so bad every dime can make a difference. There is the PowerPump Programs at Safeway, Vons, Tom Thumb, Dominicks, Genuardis, Randalls and Pavilions where you earn Gas Rewards when you buy groceries and than you save at the pump who here is doing this?

Why not?
Have you read what you have to do in order to get anything on this short lived program that ends Dec. 25? You have to spend $600.00 before you can cash in and get any money towards gasoline. Here is a partial summary for Vons Market..
How do I earn my gas Rewards?
Simply use your Club Card to get a $1.50 PowerPump Gas Reward for every $100 you spend on groceries or gift cards. The rewards add up, so it’s easy to earn $1.50, $3.00, $4.50 or more in no time. Purchases can be made in a single or multiple transactions. Once you have received your Rewards Card, Pharmacy prescriptions will apply towards Rewards. Every second prescription filled will accumulate toward your PowerPump Rewards and will automatically download onto your card within 24 hours of it being issued. Your Rewards Card may be used at any participating ARCO station. Eligible purchases towards $100 spend exclude pharmacy prescription purchases and co-pays.
When do I get my Card?
Your PowerPump Rewards Card will be issued at check-out once you have earned $9.00 in Rewards using your Club Card (equivalent to $600 in eligible spending). Once you have received your Rewards Card, future rewards will automatically load onto your card. Remember, Pharmacy prescriptions do not start accumulating until you have received your card.

I agree with you Mary and Carol. Maybe if all 5 of our kids, our s-i-l, d-i-l, and 3 Grandsons lived with us I'd be able to accumulate $600 in 2 weeks. Not now that it's just DH, Amanda and I.

Kroger does this. The fuel reward system varies from state to state. Some places it's a real deal and in others it's hardly worth it. You can check your area at: http://www.kroger.com/in_store/fuel/Pages/default.aspx
Giant Eagle also has "fuelperks". Their discounts stay on your card for 3 months, but are only good on one fillup. Back when fuel was really high, I filled the 34 gallon tank in our truck for just over $12.00! You can see if it is worth your while at: http://www.gianteagle.com/article.aspx?cntid=177048 They also give a 1% savings on your groceries, at least in my area, for every 10 gallons of gas you purchase. It's sort of a double dipping deal. http://www.gianteagle.com/Article.aspx?cntid=196645

I know lots of people who use their Giant Eagle perks...
We have a system out here where I live in California but the kicker is that the closest gas station to redeem the points is like 20 miles away...so you have to waste gas to get gas...
stupid.
