recycling things you have . I just thought it would be neat to see some ideas you have for reusing stuff you have. Like yesterday my son told me he didn't want the bookshelf in hi room anymore . The wood was still good but I didn't have any place else to put a whole bookshelf so I cut it in half and it works great in our master bath I attached it to the wall on either side of a large mirror. I makes the bathroom clutter free. of course I had a cut that not so good but a nice tall colored vase salved that problem.

This was something we did a long time ago but it was useful none the less...a friend had carpet installed it was a flat carpet with rubber backing, the pattern was octagon, so we were sitting there chatting and my husband at the time asks "hey man, can I have these left over pieces?" and the friend says "ya sure but what are you going to do with them?" He replied, "cut them down & make coasters"
We had those "coasters" for many many years...they worked great.
great thread by the way...:)

I have a few:
I've used an old spice rack with the glass containers cleaned, to hold nuts and bolts in the garage.
Shoe boxes to hold kids video games.
Wooden bread boxes, to hold misc. stuff on my desk.
Empty tissue boxes hold plastic bags.
Old metal desks, being discarded by school, hold tools in garage.
Old cookie jar is now dog "treat" container.
Old T.V. Stand is now microwave cart.
I'm sure there are more............. :)

My neighbors were getting rid of their old nightstand and dresser, so we put that in our spare room....the dresser is used to hold extra linens. My hope chest is used as a tv stand....
and my old tv/vcr stand is making a very nifty book case and printers holder!!!
