Honey once you get them, you have them for life, I have never heard of anything that takes them away...

LOL, as far as I know, Carol is right. It's just one of those sad, sorry facts of life.

Actually, I've read they can be treated with laser surgery, but it's pricey.

my oldest is 21 and guess what? There still there. Yeah no bikinis here!! If you keep your skin well oiled during your pregnancy that will give your skin more elasticity to grow and stretch without tearing causing a stretch marks.

I kept putting coco butter on them and a few of them went away but right before I had him, I would say about 2 weeks before...I got really bad ones around my belly button. I have tried coco butter on them too but they will not go away. They have smoothed out a little, but look really bad.

I have known a couple girls that have had 3 kids each and they didn't have any and still wore their bikini's. I think Doctors should tell you on your first pregnancy appointment about how to care for your skin so you don't get any or have minimal stretch marks. Nobody ever told me...maybe I should go to the "venting" section of SS now LOL!

I also wonder if good genes has anything to do with it. I've had two kids, and I've lost a great deal of weight; yet I don't have many stretch marks at all! I do have them, but not many.

Liz, they'll fade in time, but they won't ever go away completely.

can I join you? I know several girls right now that are prego and I think they get tired of hearing me say are you oiling several times a day? If you want to show that flat stomach you had you better lotion all the time.

Stretch marks have to do with the elasticity of your skin. They will fade in time but you will always be able to see them

I bathed in "stretch mark" lotion every night , from 10 weeks till birth. I only ended up with a few on each hip, nowhere else. After my son was about 6 month's, I went and had micro-dermabrasion done on my hips. Well worth the money !!

I refer to my stretch marks as "traces of love!"

I didn't have any until 2 weeks before our first child was born. With each pregnancy I got a couple more. They used to bother me when I was younger, but not anymore. To me they are like a passage to Motherhood.

The micro derms help alot, if they are very stubborn you can also have a chemical peel or even a laser proceedure. The lasers tend to be a bit expensice though. Chemical peel and mirco tend to be around the same price. But well worth the $.

I used all the coco butter I could get my hands on and no stretch marks for me anywhere, but the one place I did not use cream!! I did not know "they" would get so BIG when the milk came, but oh-my!!! So I used some Visibly Fit Body Lotion from Mary Kay and they are going away!!! I just have to remember to use it!!!

I have had four kids and the ages range between 17 years old & 5 months. I never noticed the strech marks going away. They do fade, but mine are here for life. I agree that it's a sign of what you went through to get them into the world. Especially my 5 month old baby girl. I almost miscarried with her three times. I ended up on complete bedrest for six months! Anywhoo........I don't really think about them until it's time to put on a bathing suit, which is not very often - thankfully!

Heck, I've never had a kid and I have stretch marks. I gained the freshman 50 when I went to college. I guess I will just have MORE stretchmarks when I have kids.

Yeah i don't think there is anything to make them go away, when you are pregnant make sure you put a good lotion on EVERYDAY, i didn't get stretch marks on my tummy i got them on my butt :( i forgot to put lotion on there lol.

I am about four months pregnant and i have read everything (or at least is seems like it) on stretch marks. I am only 22 and terrified of getting them. From what i have read the best way to tell if you are going to get them is if your mom had them when she had you. But, there are things you can do to reduce them, such as hydrate your skin with oil or lotion regularly. But from what I found in the mounds of baby books laying around, there isn't much to do once you have them. They just suggest staying out of the sum because tanning can make their appearance worse. I wouldn't wast your money on any product that claims to make them vanish.

I've found that personally, tanning hides my stretch marks more than not tanning on them. Go figure??
