Thanks to all of you. I guess the fear of the unknown is what gets to me. I know that everything happens for a reason, so hopefully something good will come out soon!
The prayers will work, I just know it.
I am trying to get my house clean and in order (because DH never cleans the way he should) He just brought me a long stem pink rose and a card. I suppose it's his way of keeping my mind off things.
Again thanks for all the support. Surgery is October 1st at 9am. Jess will let you guys know how it all goes.

Oh and I forgot to add if anyone has any thoughts or has any knowledge on my diagnosis please share. I have been researching on the internet but it's just bad so I stopped. I have a hydrosalpinx on my left fallopian tube. She will do salpingectomy surgery to remove it. More than likely she will have to cut my lower abdomen because the looks of it from the ultrasound, it is too large for lapriscopy.

Just know the diagnose may be wrong, ultrasounds are not 100% right, so it may not be as bad as the doctor thinks....I'm keeping a positive and hopeful outcome for you.

The hospital has called me 3 times today!! They are freaking me out with all these questions. Like "Is it ok for a person of your religion to visit you, Is it ok if we give information to anyone who calls". Well heck no! Then they already sent me an estimate bill of 58,700 and when the last guy called he said that the estimate was just the dr fee. I have never heard of getting billed before the procedure!
Cpogie
09-26-2008, 06:59 PM
Geesh whats with all the questions. When you go for your pre admit they usually ask all these questions and have you sign a paper saying you read and understand what they told you. I've never heard of them telling you a cost before surgery.....especially if you have insurance. Maybe a newbie at the hospital? reguardless that is plain weird.

That is VERY odd, that should have been handled at pre-adm. I was told the cost of 2 od my kids surgery UPFRONT and requested to pay my 20 percent before the surgeries WERE ever done:rolleyes:

The surgery could be like the one I just had. They didn't do pre-admit except over the phone. No blood work, nothing.... I was a little suprised. But at least they didn't give me the estimate of costs. I really don't know how I would have reacted to that one. Good Luck Deanna!

I had to pay my 10% up front in 2004 before they would do my gall bladder surgery. I was like....this is a spur of the moment surgery...I can't pay it right now. She was like well, when can you? I was like well, I get paid on Fri. and she was like well can someone get the money from you (while I am recovering) and bring it. I said yeah. Think I did that....heck no. I paid like a month later.
They even tried to do bloodwork twice, I was like...this has been done....nurse said oh yeah, I see now.......Guess they were going to try to get more money. lol
I still have not paid and will never pay from where I went to emergency room, knowing it was gall bladder problems and they did a pelvic exam. I mean what the? Sent me home with heartburn. I was right back that night with a doctor that actually listened to me, did a ultrasound of gall bladder and confirmed what I said to start off with. Ok, will hush now.
Hope all is well with your surgery! Praying for ya!

Don't get down- thoughts and prayers are on the way! I am going to send you some info via PM about the dx. but just as Carol said ultrasounds aren't 100% especially in this case!

What Hospital is it you are going to? summit would do this when Matt was having to go for lithotripsy(SP?) for Kidney stones every other week they would call him and ask him all these questions and then he would go in for pre admit and do blood work and the rest of the questions and sign everything he needed to sign. they said they do that so that on the day of surgery you can just go straight to surgery instead of having to do all that on the same day especially if you are having an early surgery.

DeAnna,
OK Pm'ed you back again- but remember...they will start off with the smallest incision possible before they have to do anything bigger. Let's pray to keep it small.
As for sleeping take some Tylenol PM for these two nights- you won't get hooked on it and at least you'll get some sleep or Just take plain Benadryl. But do it BEFORE your cut off time of being NPO (nothing by mouth)- because when they mean nothing they mean nothing!
Prayers and thoughts coming your way....

Thanks for all your prayers. I am feeling a little better today. Still really sore in my neck and shoulders from the gas. I am just now starting to feel the pain in my stomach. I am going stir crazy laying on the couch!! So DH agreed to watch me sit in the office for 15 minutes. As Jess told you they did have to take both my tubes. It is pretty harsh news to me and the family. Right now I am still trying to process the fact that I will never get pregnant naturally. But that will heal in time, and there are always other methods. Just trying to stay strong and positive. Ok it's time to head back to the couch.:o Again thank you so very much.

DeAnna,
I'm sorry to hear the news... :( I am out of bed the first time myself in days (I have been really sick) If you are still sore in your shoulders and neck from the gas keep taking those warm showers to help you feel better. It sometimes takes a while for it to go away in the shoulder area.
I know you must be hurting more in your heart right now more than anywhere else but as you said there is more than one way to get pregnant and I'm glad you already have a consult with a doctor who's area is IVF.
Sounds like you have a wonderful husband and family as well!
If I could help with questions PM them over to me- but know I might not answer right away...I'm going to crawl back into bed...I got out to check on you.

DeAnna,
I just wanted to let you know that I'm still thinking about you! And I wanted to mention something briefly--you can tell me to mind my own business and buzz off too.
I found a wonderful site regarding pregnancy-the women are so warm and friendly (just like the ladies here). There are many women who are going through IVF procedures and such. The support you can get there is just amazing-they have prayer support buddies too. If you would like more information, just let me know..or again, you can tell me to buzz off!

Nancy thanks for all the info. The heating pad and hot showers is about the best thing I have been doing for the gas. It is helping for sure. I think it's almost gone!!
Cindy I would love more information to that site. Right now I am having to surround myself with positive thoughts and people. Sounds like I would get to meet lots of ladies going through the same thing. Right now I feel like I have wonderful supporters but no one really feels what I am going through. I never thought at 25 I would be told I cant give my husband children. Then I feel guilty for always wanting to talk about it. But thank goodness for technology these days that make it possible!

I went to the Dr on Wednesday and got released, so hopefully things will get back to normal soon. Went back yesterday for a full exam. Everything is healing and looking great for our chances at IVF. We got the name of a great IVF clinic here in Nashville. We have decided to wait about 4-6 months before we visit. We want to make sure we are ready emotionally and completly healthy. My Dr said that when you go in it gets the ball rolling pretty fast, so I need to make sure I've got my stuff together. It is definatly something to save for and look forward to. :)

I'm so happy for you that you're healing well, & have the referral for IVF. you're very smart to give yourself a few more months to "get your stuff together" .. you've been through a lot of physical & emotional trauma for several months, so relax & feel healthy for awhile.
