My dog Zoey......

My best friend Zoey needs many prayers.....She has a major surgery coming up tomorrow. Shes losing her eye. Shes only 4 years old, and we have been fighting to save it for several months. The vet tells me that there may be a tumor behind the eye causing all of this(we havent been able to determine exactly how this started) and if its a soft tumor, we're ok and it can be removed. If its the other kind, then its all over. I cant stand the thought of losing her...I'm so scared! If everyone can say a prayer for her and wish us luck it would be greatly appreciated. I'll let everyone know how it went tomorrow.....

I will definitely say a prayer for Zoey! I couldn't imagine losing one of my dogs right now, so I can only imagine how you may feel right now. Stay positive and I'm hoping for the best!

Thank you all for the prayers...I just read them and now I'm sitting here at my desk in tears....I'm gonna think positive and pray she pulls through this. I have a beagle named Bagel who would be awfully upset if his buddy didnt make it through this, as well as her mommy.......Thanks again to you all....and I will let you all know tomorrow morning at some point...It means a lot to Zoey and myself.....:)

As for the other dog, we have a 2nd dog also and he gets so sad when mine is gone. Just spoil Bagel for the time being and give him tons of love.

Well, I spoke with the vets office and I dont know anything really yet, she was still in surgery...so far so good. They got a late start on her surgery because when we got to the vet Zoey got away from the gal that was taking her to the kennels in a seperate building! So, there we all were this morning running up and down the road looking for her! She finally came out of the bushes and I got her coaxed into the car..then it took another 15 minutes for me to get her out...shes a 100 lb dog so it wasnt easy. I'll be getting the final report around 2 this afternoon....Thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts..it means a lot to me and has been a bit of a comfort....I'll write later on with her surgery results......:)

I just got a call from my vet...surgery is all done, and no tumor!! Yay! However, the cause of all of this is, of all things....a big shard of glass worked down into her eye socket!!!! How in the world something like that got in there is beyond me! I'm not gonna complain, no tumor, she wont be in pain anymore and I guess I'm bringing home a one eyed dog tomorrow, they couldnt save her eye. But my girl is fine and coming home in the morning! Thanks again to all of you for being so very supportive in this hard time....I so appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone....It worked! :)

THANK GOD SHE IS OK! I can't believe it was a piece of glass. That is crazy. A one eyed dog is better than no dog though! I knew someone that had a one eyed cat, so the other cat would always attack it on the side it had no eye cause it couldn't see it coming! haha. Your dog will just be happy to be feeling better though. Take some time to get used to only having one eye, but it will still be the same happy dog as always! Glad to hear all the prayers came in handy yet again!

The scary thing is I already have a one eyed cat!! My dad passed away 3 years ago and I took his kitties...one of which had kitty glaucoma and had his eye removed 5 years ago....Hes almost 20 now and doing pretty good with just one eye! I have a matched set now! A one eyed cat and DOG! What are the odds of that??

Lol...they're all turning handicapped! I have a little cat thats totally deaf too...I'm gonna need one of those handicapped parking permits to hang in my car pretty soon! I'm so happy shes gonna be ok.

Lol...yeah, mine are a little too human at times I think....I just cant figure out how that glass got in there like that! I guess its like over an inch long piece! Just really weird.....am glad this is over with, I didnt get any sleep last night!

Yeah, that is so strange how a peice of glass got in there, perhaps she was rolling around in the dirt? or grass, and it was in there. Thank god you took her to the vet! and that they were able to fix her. I bet you are beat, you will sleep much better tonight.
