Well, there it is.... Scotty Gomez is a Ranger. How could this happen? They are rivals. And then Brian Rafalski goes to the Wings....
Is Gomez worth $51 milllion? Briere $52 million?

I am a Toronto fan, and is just confused about Jason Blake going there. ($20Mill) I hope that is what they need.

Anyone heard anything else?

Scotty Gomez signing with the Rangers is not right, just not right...Devils, Islander & Rangers signing each others UFA is just wrong...too much rivialry there...BUT I believe the Rangers are setting themselves up to make a serious Stanley Cup run in 07/08 season especially picking up both Gomez and Drury. Two excellent centers. Rafalski as much as I liked his play for all the years with the Devils I can understand him going to D-town to play...kinda like Neidermeyer signing with the Ducks 2 seasons ago..because of family. His signing makes sense but Gomez..aughhhhhhhhhhhh...love that boy but it's going to be very hard watching him play wearing a "Blueshirt"...Jason Blake is not worh $20 million... he was a good player for the Islanders but I believe he has hit his highest high..but could be wrong. Maybe he'll prove to been worth $20 million playing for someone else...Briere is one of the best forwards playing in the NHL right now and Philly needs all the help they can get. Again this is another team that is setting themselves up for a serious SC run..If not this next season then the next...drop the puck already! aughhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Oh Gosh I know, get on with the game. I seem to wear a hockey shirt every night. I miss it so much. Hubby and I will set up the net in the driveway. I am goalie and he just hits them to me. It helps us deal.
Did you see about T. Vanek. The Oilers wanted him! What is Buff going to do this season without all there star players? I do agree that Philly will actually have a "team" this year. I think that they went down hill with the loss of Lindross. Who's going to be #2 in the net for them? Niittymaki?
I can't believe that Jason Blake is going to be on my "Sundin line". He should feel honored!:p I am glued to nhl.com. I have to go there everyday to see what I missed.
I still think that the Devils could have squeezed Gomez in under the salary cap. I wonder who the highest paid Devil is???? Brodeur? Gionta?

Glad that there's is another hockey fan here!

Leafs sign Scott Clemmensen to tend goal. Leafs have 3 goalies now. I wonder who will be number 1. Hopefully not Raycroft!

You don't want Clemmensen either... The Clemmensen signing did not make any sense because you guys already had 2 goalies and now you have a glut unless one goes down to the AHL or is used as trade bait at the beginning of the season..still scratching my head over that move. But I was glad the Devils got rid of him and picked up Weeks.

We all deal differently with the summer "silly season"...NARCh (inline hockey world championships) is here from today (7/13) through 7/28 when the adult International finals are played. Hey hockey is hockey. Inline is a different form of hockey, loud, 4 15 minute periods a few other differences but it's still hockey in the dead of summer in Southwest Florida and there are teams from all over the world here to compete, from the little squirts right up to Adult teams...
Chalytown if you really love hockey there is a hockey board/blog you may be interested in if you don't know about it already. It's called Into The Boards. It has hockey chat on EVERY level for every hockey league and then some. Addy is: intotheboards.net This is a site for true hockey "hounds"...LOL;)

Thanks so much for the heads up, I will go and check out that site. Hubby and I do the inline hockey thing. He has his gloves, skates and about a dozen sticks! I have all the goalie equip, (still need chest protection) But it gets us threw. Our local park has an outdoor in-line rink. We hsould go there. Of course, no one ever uses it! All OURS! Thanks...

Well, yesterday was the first day of hockey in the US and Cananda. Sad to say the Leafs lost in OT. It's still a point. They played good and hard. Can't wait to see the Devils play tonight. I am so thrilled that is has started again!!!

I didn't know that Boston had a jersey... Can't wait to see. I think that Boston might have a chance since Claude Julien is behind the bench. NJ was crazy to let him go.... i didn't think that anyone was a Shark fan. We'll just call them the San Jose Joe's!!!
I wonder how Jason Blake from my Leafs will preform tonight. I hope that he is well....

Well, so far so good with the hockey season. It is still early, and what is going on with the Devils? Should Brodeur bow out gracefully? I can't believe the year the Flyers are having. I guess adding Biron last year and getting Briere made a big difference. And Whoa, the Wild are rocking the joint. I think that they are someone to look out for. Sure it's the start of the season, but they have been solid. What does everyone else think?????

A Pens fan!! I am from PA and I'm not even a Pens fan. I thought that it was too many time outs to fix the ice. I was getting annoyed with that. But all in all, I really enjoyed the game. That was my first outside game, and the rating were great also.

YAY!! I like the Predators just because they are our home team, but my parent's family all lives in Michigan so we just hope the Red Wings don't win.;) They have won enough, it is time for someone else to get it.
