She is an amazing lady and has supported me through so much lately, and now it is my turn to return the favor. She is having a hard time right now and really needs extra prayers. Thank you! I got my surgery date moved up! I think the prayers are working. It still seems like it is going to be forever, but it is now Sept. 2. Thanks everyone, for the kind words and prayers. They mean more than you know....

I haven't taken anything for pain since I got home from the hospital. Hopefully I won't have to. I hate that weird feeling the pain pills make you have. Ouch....have you tried those band aids that are for blisters. I love those. Give them a try, it just might help you. Thank you for what you are doing! :D

The girls are getting their hair done on Sat. morning and my neighbor did her dogs already (she is the hairdresser) and she already thinks she might have to re-do them!

I figured I could do 5 since I am doing it for 3 people who have all been fighting, and even one that has lost her battle. It is the least I can do to show all of you my support. I know that Jerri's family will love it. We did the 24 hour dive-a-thon for her, and they raised a TON of money!!! We are going to do more stuff to help raise money because we can donate until June she said. I can't wait for all these things to show my support!:D Still keeping you in my prayers all the time!!!

Nancy....that sounds so cute! I have never seen that done, but sounds like fun. If the cat has no claws....otherwise, the kitty hairdresser could be in for a rough day. LOL My daughter is thinking I should have my hair dyed pink. I just don't know that I could pull that one off. ;) I may not have any to worry about, not sure yet. But either way, I can handle it. Plus like I said, I can struggle a little to walk 5 miles since you have to struggle to get your health back! We set a goal to get it done no later than noon (it starts at 9:00), which we should have no problem doing. I know I can do about 2 miles in 40 minutes, so we should be done way before noon. Depends on how crowded it is also. I donated $20 for the dive-a-thon and then won some fins in a silent auction for $20, and we are planning on donating atleast another $20 Saturday, so I will have donated around $60 this month for finding a cure!:D

Kim, we finished the walk in 1 hour and 15 minutes!! That is great for 5 miles. We were in the first quarter of the people that finished!! It was so amazing that we decided we are going to do it every year. It was not even as hard as we thought it would be! I am doing the MS walk for my mom when it comes to town. Thank you Jess, it is appreciated. Still in the hospital, this is the 7th day. UGH...I hate this place! Dr. says I will probably be here until the end of the week. Chemo will be stopped for 4-6 weeks, now I have a huge angry looking ulcer in the duodenum (Sp?). I have had popsicles for a week. Today I tried ice cream, and it made me sick. So.... I am aggravated! I have to eat before I can go home, and when it makes me sick, I can't eat. Not the best way to lose weight! But, I am looking on the bright side, at least it is not my gall bladder like they thought it was. The symptoms were the same. I was so sorry to hear of Lucy's passing. Cancer is a horrible disease. It can affect us all, young, old, rich or poor. Hopefully the cure will be found soon!

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers! I am now done with chemo. Yay! I will be getting fluids this weekend, if I need them. (It helps having a daughter that is a nurse.) Hopefully I won't since he dialed back the dosage. :D

I have only got nauseous one time, I have 5 different meds to take care of that. Thank goodness! :) They also give you a dose of nausea meds right before chemo, and that helps a lot. They give you steroids too, and that makes you starve before you get done. LOL

I did the whole Tamoxifen thing. I guess I was lucky, not too many problems with it, just some dryness and hot flashes! Now I am on Femara with the same effects. Go figure!!!

My Mom did Tamoxifen too. I had a clot that blocked the portal vein in my liver, and he will not allow me to take it. And that was 17 years ago. He said we could do one of 2 things. 1=Lupron shot every three months with one of the AI drugs (and this may or may not work) or 2=hyst*****omy needless to say, I am off to the gyn in the morning.

Ya I know. Sadly the 1 year is not too far away. I don't want to have to think about it. She was such a great woman. Her family loves what we are doing and are at every event we have done. We are all one big family so it is nice to have everyone around when something so sad happens. You will be more than ready next year and I will be cheering you on!! I have a friend doing the 3 day walk and I thought about doing it with her, but I don't have time to raise all the money. Maybe next year!!

That is great that the family is so supportive. I know they are proud that you guys do things in her memory. I would like to do the 3 day too, but I know I would not be able to do it by October. And, my Ashley is getting married in October. It is a lot of money to raise, I may have to start trying to raise funds now. ;) :)

Thanks! :) I appreciate your prayers very much! I am doing a lot better. Now to figure out what med to take for 5 years. Tamoxifen has a clotting risk and the Dr. doesn't want me to have it. Catch 22 here... I have to be in menopause to take the others, and I was not before chemo. Decisions, decisions.... YUK

Kim, it's good to hear that you're doing better. It does get better. Although I'm still fatigued, I'm so thankful to be alive to feel tired. I just saw my oncologist. For the past year, I've been seeing him every 4 months. The two years before that it was every 3 months. Of course, while I was going through chemo, it was once a month. Now, I've graduated to every 6 months. He said that way it wouldn't be such a shock when I go to once a year. :) You have some tough decisions to make. I wasn't in menopause before I started chemo either, but have been since chemo has ended.

I have, but I have not started taking them yet.... Arimidex is the one, but I was not in menopause when I started chemo. They have to suppress my ovaries. It will not work if I am still producing estrogen. I have another appointment with the gyn on the 20th. I may have to have a hyst. Or I will have to take Lupron shots every 3 months, and it may not even work. So I am thinking hyst. I guess I will know next week. (The crazy thing is Lupron is used in men with prostate cancer, but they have started using it with women now to) I just don't want to take the risk that it may not work. Crazy decisions....
