Pray for my BIL, Joe (etc.)

I just found out this afternoon that my BIL, Joe's building, he has an apartment house with a garage next door (not attached) went up in flames this morning. :( The garage is his place of business and his livelihood! He had an office in the apartment building as well. (He owns a Termite/pest...small pest- not possum! control business)

Anyway, my sister lives 2 and 1/2 hours away from me and said they got a call this am at 6:45 that their building was on fire...the apartment building!
One set of people (bottom) were on vacation so they weren't home at all... but the woman who lives on top had two people staying with her and went away as well! The one woman went to work...the man put something on the stove then went to the bathroom- came back and found the whole kitchen in flames :eek: My sister said she doesn't even know how he got out of there...the way it is set up.

The fire company came...they are 2 blocks away- great, right? Nope -had a truck that would not pump water! :eek: They sent out a call- the call didn't go tot he next town but three towns over! So the truck they sent took over 15 minutes in getting there!!!! They are doing an investigation (my sister is a lawyer for the state!) about it. Meanwhile these people's things are burnt, windows are blown out, siding melted- only good thing was the garage where Joe keeps his trucks was not too damaged and the trucks are OK.

My BIL had people come to start cleaning out the places...inspectors, insurance, etc. are coming tommorrow. I am sure they called everyone on vacation :( I cannot imagine getting a phone call like that saying all you things are gone- just gone!

I can't imagine what your BIL and his family are going through, to have lost everything. I'm praying that things work out and get better for them.

That's aweful. I have no idea how it would feel to loose all of my personal things! Praying that the familes will be able to replace what they lost. I know it's hard to think positive right now but look at the bright side.. No one got hurt!! Thank GOD for that!! There was a reason why all those people were on vacation...It saved their lifes! Praying that everything will work out for all the people involved.

I am so sorry to hear this. This has to be so devastating for all concerned. I will keep your BIL and all of the families concerned in my prayers. How sad......

Thats aweful Nancy. Thankfully no one was hurt. I will pray for all of those who lost anything in the fire.

This is so sad.

A building right down from my work is turned into apartments and someone starts an incents stick and was not watching it. Well it caught their couch on fire and the whole building caught on fire. No one was killed thankfully, but people's pets died:( It was on the hottest day of the year here too and the firefighters were all about to pass out. It took them hours to get everyone out and the fire put out. Very sad.
