I open up the paper today and see that the guy that I went to my first prom with has died. He was 41. Lou and I were just friends...our parents knew each other through business. We went to different schools and he was a year ahead of me- 2 years older than me. (He must have been going to be turning 42 soon) I went to his Junior prom with him- still have the pictures.

See him occasionally, my parents see him more- he married 14 years ago and had two kids a boy and a girl. I didn't get a paper yesterday. And my parents didn't say anything about him dying. His wake was yesterday...the funeral today. I am assuming it was a heart attack since it didn't say he was sick or anything. He was always a 'big' guy- tall and just BIG. But with that he had a big personality, bear hugs and laughter...I feel badly that his children will not see their father as they grow and this wife and lost a wonderful man. :(

Please pray for this family. Thank you.

Thanks for all your prayers guys...found out that my grandfather never sent my mother that day's paper down. When I called that day she thought I was talking about his father. I said "No...Louie! Lou, Jr." They felt awful. I guess the major paper never put in a picture of him either- they just ran the obit with his name. )I don't know why that would matter- she would still see the name and look at the obit (his father has the same name).

Anyway, those poor kids and his wife must be having the most terrible time of it right now...I found out his kids are just a few years younger than mine. :( Still keep them in your prayers- thanks!

It's hard enough to lose someone let alone for a child to lose a parent,I can only imagine how devasted those poor kids must be and the Mom as well.....It's always upsetting to hear of such saddness. The Family is in my thoughts and prayers

Nancy,

I'm sorry that I didn't post sooner.. I feel for these kids and for the Father that they will never have.. but I do want to say that from everything bad comes something good! Honestly..I pray that this family can grieve and think about the good times and things that will come from this. You and your friends are in my prayers..Allison:)
